"God I hate the rain," she mumbled to herself as she stood in the empty hallway. She held her phone to her ear, listening to the dialing tone.

"What can I do for you?" The voice of Thomas asked eventually.

"Is there anyway you can pick me up? It's raining really heavy and Jordan never showed up to class today," She asked hopefully.

She heard him sigh through the other end of the phone, "I'm at work."

"It's fine," she told him.

She hung up quickly before glancing at the rain outside. She was only wearing a regular t shirt and some jeans, it certainly was not a suitable outfit for the weather.

She raised her hand over her head to shield herself from the rain before she ran out of the building.

She hadn't made it very far when she bumped into a hard chest, almost sending her Body flying to the floor. His arms wrapped around her waist quickly, keeping her balanced, and a chorus of apologies sounded through the empty street.

"Are you okay?" The man asked again.

She nodded and looked up, only to be met with the face of Jamie. Her heart dropped as he stared at her in surprise.

"What are you doing? It's raining," he exclaimed, water dripping down his face.

She raised her eyebrows, "I'm aware of that."

"Take my coat," He insisted, pulling it off of his body. She shook her head and he placed it on her shoulders, beginning to push her in a random direction.

"See, I was actually running to my car because it's parked right around the corner but obviously you're walking home so I'll give you a lift."

Before she had time to object she had been shoved into the car and his jacket had been zipped up over her.

She sighed heavily, knowing that objecting would be pointless considering she had to go to work and didn't have time to run home.

He sat into the car and smiled gently at her.

An awkward silence took over as he turned on the heating and began the drive back to her apartment.

Her heart raced in her chest and she stared out of the window, the realization only now dawning on her that she was sitting in a car with a man whom she hated.

He connected his phone to the aux cord before turning on a song.

As soon as the opening Melody came on tears sprung to chloes eyes. Apple bottom jeans.

"Do you remember this?" He asked, a smile apparent on his face, "I sang it to you the first day we met."

She sighed in irritation, some stray tears rolling down her cheeks, "I remember. You were drunk and I was dancing with your friend and you decided to come over and start singing to me. I suppose that was part of the bet too?"

He frowned as he shook his head, "The bet only came into action when I ask you on our first date."

She scoffed, "How could I have forgotten?"

He turned off the radio abruptly, realizing the song hasn't had the effect on her that he had hoped it would have.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to upset you."

"Bullshit," She mumbled, looking out the car window once again.

She wanted nothing more than to be at home and away from him, but she also had to go to work, something else that was stressing her mind.
