"I really don't want to go anywhere," Charlotte mumbled as Thomas dragged her out of her bedroom.

He shrugged and looked back at her, "You've been avoiding everyone for like a week. Conor is worried sick and Jordan won't stop calling. You haven't even told him what's happened and he's freaking out. He thinks he did something and you're mad at him."

She rolled her eyes, "Fine, I'll text them both back, I'm going back to bed now."

She turned to walk away and he quickly grabbed her shoulders, "Ah, ah, ah, the only reason you will be going into your bedroom will be to get dressed. I am taking you on a trip."

"A trip to where?" She asked grumpily.

"You'll see when we get there, now go."

She sighed and went back into her bedroom, avoiding looking at herself in the mirror.

Ever since her assault she hadn't been able to look at herself in the mirror. She didn't see the same person who she used to see. She hated what she saw when she looked at herself now, so she simply stopped looking at herself at all.

She pulled on a simple pair of leggings and a hoody, with nothing only a sports bra underneath, knowing he wasn't going to be bringing her anywhere fancy.

She brushed her teeth quickly and threw her hair up into a messy bun.

When she walked out of her room Thomas looked her up and down and opened his mouth to speak, but she cut him off before he could get a word out.

"I know I look like shit, I'm not really feeling like getting glammed up."

He frowned at her, "Actually, I was going to say I like your hair."

She blushed immediately and he gave her a gentle smile, "You ready to go?"

She nodded slightly and he led her out of the apartment and down to his car, where he opened the door so that she could get in.

That was one thing she still wasn't used to—his chivalry.

"Can you tell me where we're going now?" She asked after a few minutes in the car. The route they were taking seemed familiar but she couldn't remember where they were going.

"Tree house."

Realization dawned on her and she frowned, "It's really cold and I never brought a coat."

He shrugged, "I came prepared for that actually, I have a blanket in the back and there's already a heater in the tree house."

"What are we going to do in there?" She asked, now turning to look at him instead of out the window.

"Well, we are going to sit in the tree house for a while, we are then going to hike up to the top of the hill, light a fire and then watch the sunset, because watching it set over the river is something that everyone should witness once."

Her heart fluttered at his consideration, she had never met a man who was as caring as him.

The rest of the car ride was silent, neither of them feeling like they needed to talk to fill it. The silence was comforting enough.

As they pulled up outside the forest she felt her heart pace begin to pick up. She hadn't been in such a secluded area by herself with a male since her assault.

She took a deep breath as he helped her over the stepping stones again and reassured herself that Thomas would never hurt her.

She could trust him.

He kept her hand held in his as they got to the tree house, only letting go of it when he had to climb the ladder.

They sat in and he immediately switched on the heater. They sat in front of it, the dim sunlight shining in through the window.
