Thomas frowned as he squinted at the daylight peeking in through his window. He looked at the empty space beside him, confusion clouding his brain.

He stared at the space for a moment, wondering where exactly Charlotte had gone.

He had fallen asleep beside her, he was certain of that much.

He groaned as he pulled himself out of bed, checking the time on his phone as he did so. Nine a.m.

Too early.

He rubbed his eyes as he made his way to the kitchen, expecting to find her making herself breakfast. He didn't.

His eyes landed on a piece of paper that was sitting in the middle of the island and he picked it up.

Gone to buy groceries. Won't be long :)

As if on cue a chirpy looking Charlotte strolled into the apartment holding a grocery bag in each hand.

He walked over to her with a grin on his face, bending down to peck her lips.

"Here I was thinking that it would be harder for a girl to run out on me in the morning if she lived with me, I guess I was wrong," He mumbled.

She smiled gently and placed the two bags on the island, "Would you rather wake up with me or eat?"

He raised his eyebrows, a smirk forming on his face, "Technically, they could fall into the same category."

Her cheeks turned a bright red color as she began to unload the groceries, "You're such a pig."

He shrugged, "That makes you a freak for making out with a pig."

She rolled her eyes, "Whatever."

He wrapped his arms around her waist from behind, gently kissing the back of her neck.

"How about I take you somewhere nice?" He suggested

She smiled contentedly, "I like the sound of that."

He grinned, "Good. First..." He removed his arms from around her waist, "Breakfast."

"...Actually I got called down to the precinct. Officer Peralta and the sergeant need to do a proper interview with me," Charlotte mumbled, picking with her fingers uncomfortably.

"Do you want me to come?" He offered, his eyes softening.

"Yeah, please."

He nodded and intertwined their fingers, rubbing circles in the back of her hand with his thumb.

"That Terry guy is huge," Thomas said with a chuckle as they walked out of the precinct.

"Yeah, you didn't have to ask for his workout routine though," She pointed out with a laugh.

He shrugged, "Sometimes you just need to know."

She smiled fondly as he kept his arm wrapped around her shoulder, "Now that we're in the city maybe we should stop for food somewhere. Then you and I are going on a date."

"We could just have a breakfast date," She suggested.

He shook his head, "No way. Our first date is going to be completely over the top."

She raised her eyebrows, "Well, if that's what you'd prefer then I'm perfectly fine with that."

He smirked as he pressed his lips against her temple, "And also, Lucy picked out your outfit so you can't kill me when you see it."
