She slowly crept into the living room, not wanting to be seen by anyone but wanting to know what the drama was about.
She didn't want anyone to be fighting with each other and she certainly didn't want friends to be splitting up because of her, but she also wanted to know just what was happening.
When she walked in she was immediately met with the sight of Preston holding Dylan by the throat as Thomas and Lucas sat on the couch, watching with concern.
They knew better then to interfere with person when he was angry, but chloe however, didn't.
"What the fuck did you say to her, huh? Did you talk about Conor?" He growled into Dylan's face.
Dylan shook his head, not having the ability to do much more. "She came onto me man, I didn't do anything."
Charlotte rolled her eyes but walked over to Preston, placing her hand in his shoulder.
He turned his head quickly, eyeing her up and down, "What?" He spat.
She flinched but kept her ground, "Just let go of him, it's not your place to get involved in this."
He shook his head, "You're never going to defend yourself when it comes to him. You won't do it because you're afraid of him."
She frowned, she couldn't disagree with him. She knew herself that she was afraid of Dylan hurting her, but she wasn't about to be told what to do because she knew that she wouldn't be hurt when there was other people around, none of the guys would dare hit her, they would be attacked on sight.
"I'm not afraid of him. I'm not afraid of you and I'm certainly not going to let you fight my battles for me so back off," she growled, now giving him a forceful shove.
He stepped backwards, grabbing her hand as he did so.
"Charlotte, I know you don't want me to get involved in this but you have to tell me the truth, did he say something about Conor?"
Her silence was the only response he needed, and soon enough he had gotten Charlotte out of his way and had Punched Dylan in the face.
"Don't ever talk about Conor again," He Warned.
Getting punched in the face didn't seem to effect Dylan too much as he looked over to Charlotte with a slight smirk upon seeing how distressed she was, but Preston grabbed his neck again.
"I'm not finished, if I ever see you even breathe in her direction I will kill you," he threatened.
Thomas grabbed his shoulder gently, "I think that's enough of that. I told you she didn't want you to cause a scene."
Thomas looked at Charlotte apologetically as she rolled her eyes, "I think it's time you guys left," he concluded, seeing she wasn't in a good mood.
Dylan clenched his jaw, "I Can't believe you just let this slut ruin guys night."
Thomas pushed him back against the wall, "What the fuck did you just call her?"
He laughed, "What? Is there anything else to call her? She kissed Preston, fucked me and will probably be onto you next."
Thomas froze, staring at Charlotte with an accusing look. He quickly turned back to Dylan, "It's time for you to go."
Before Dylan could make any more objections he had shoved him out of the door, and Lucas left without having being asked.
An awkward silence came over the room as no one knew what to say.
Thomas scoffed, "Is that why you care about her so much? You've been hooking up?"
"What!? No! Of course not!" Charlotte exclaimed as Preston also objected.
Thomas groaned with frustration, staring at the two of them hopelessly.
"I think you should leave," he stated, looking at Preston.
Preston sighed, "At least let me explain-"
"Another time," he stated harshly.
Preston nodded once and left the apartment, throwing one last apologetic look at the two of them.
"Thomas-" Charlotte began, although the held his hand up, silencing her.
He didn't want to hear what she had to say, because she had kissed his cousin, and that was by far the worst thing he could bring himself to think of.
"I really don't want to hear it."
She looked away sadly and he let out a frustrated sigh, "Don't look at me like that."
She nodded once, "Please, just let me explain it to you."
She knew that her and Thomas were not in a relationship, but they had gotten much closer than they had ever been and after his drunken confessions she knew that he was upset about this, so she felt he deserved to know the full explanation.
Except she decided she was going to leave out the details in which Preston had treated her badly, because he had already apologized and therefore didn't need to be punished more by Thomas.
"Charlie-"
She placed her hand on his chest, staring into his face pleadingly, "I'm begging," she whimpered.
He sighed and looked at her hand on his chest and nodded, placing his hand over hers.
"It was at a party, the very first party I had been to with all of you. It was months ago. There was this girl, Lucy I think, who wouldn't leave him alone so all we did was kiss in front of her. It barely even lasted two seconds before she attacked me."
His eyes snapped up to hers, "That's it?"
She looked away, avoiding his eyes, "Well, yeah, apart from one other time earlier in that day in which he asked me to do it and I said no so he kissed me anyway."
"He kissed you without your consent?"
She shrugged and looked away, "He apologized."
"Do you forgive him?"
Charlotte nodded and Thomas stayed silent, staring at the floor. "I think I might have overreacted," he admitted.
She let out a sigh of relief, "You mean, you don't hate me?"
He smirked gently, "Hate is a strong word."
She smiled happily and wrapped her arms around his shoulders, pulling him in for a hug that she felt she very much needed.
He froze momentarily before returning the hug. Taking a deep breath.
'Don't turn her ugly,' he told himself.
He placed a gentle kiss on her forehead and held her at arms length, "I think you could use some sleep, we'll talk in the morning."
She agreed, and off to her room she walked.
