"Can't it just be forgotten about already?" Charlotte asked as Thomas and Preston both followed her to her bedroom.
They both simultaneously said "No."
She frowned.
"Look, Conor is my friend too, if someone was saying bad things about him then I have the right to know."
She sighed, "He just said that he'd be better off not waking up so that he wouldn't have to deal with my shit."
They both shared angry looks, but before they could say anything Charlotte's phone started to ring, and she very happily answered it to get herself out of the tense environment she had been stuck in.
"Lucy, thank God you called," she gasped into the phone.
"Was there something wrong?" She replied.
"Nothing at all, just wanted to talk to you," she said.
"Oh well, if that's the case then you're in luck because we are going to go shopping. Just you me and Jordan, like old times sake."
Charlotte smiled and agreed before hanging up, now in a better mood than she was in before. She quickly rushed into her bedroom to make herself look presentable as the two boys had interrupted her sleep, demanding some answers.
"Where are you going?" Thomas asked, taking in her appearance.
She gave him a small smile, "I'm going shopping with Lucy and Jordan."
Preston furrowed his eyebrows but made no comment, keeping anything rude to himself.
"You need a ride?" Thomas offered.
She shook her head, "I'll have Jordan pick me up, thanks though."
He nodded once, looking her up and down, a smirk on his face.
She blushed as Preston began to make gagging noises behind them, earning a slap in the back of the head off of Thomas.
She waited a few more minutes until Jordan had texted her and then left the apartment and jumped happily into his car.
"There's my sexy girl," he exclaimed, giving her a light kiss on the head.
She laughed, "There's my not so sexy man."
He placed a hand over his heart, pushing out his lower lip, although he had to move his hand again to he able to change gears.
"So, Lucas was telling me about some drama that happened last night, although he didn't seem to know what was going on himself, care to explain?" He asked, raising an eyebrow at her.
She sighed but told him everything. First about Dylan and how he had ambushed her after work, then his lies to his friends and then she told him everything to do with Preston.
He rolled his eyes as they entered the Mall, "I think we'll both end up realizing that you getting involved with this group of guys will have been the worst thing you've ever done."
She nodded in agreement, but she knew that she could not include Thomas into that statement. He seemed to be one of the best people she had ever met.
"Actually, they only bad one seems to be Dylan now that I think of it, I take back my statement."
She smiled gently in agreement until they eventually met up with Lucy, who was more than excited to spend some time with her two best friends.
After exactly three hours Jordan had began to complain about the amount of walking around they had to do.
"Why did we come to the mall? Why couldn't we go to the beach or something?" He whined.
Lucy raised her eyebrows, "Because in the few weeks we have been here, I've worn almost all of my party clothes and we all know I can't wear the same thing twice in a year."
"True that," Charlotte stated.
Jordan rolled his eyes, "Oh come on, no one will notice if you wear the same dress twice, besides you just bought like six dresses!"
Lucy stared at the bag in her hand and shrugged, "I need casual clothing too."
"Also, I have to buy lots of clothes, and Christmas is coming so I need to start planning for presents."
Jordan rolled his eyes, "Actually, that reminds me. Both of you have to tell me what you want. I'm bad at presents and you know this."
Charlotte smiled, "I would like anything. I have nothing in mind this year."
He frowned, "Nothing I get will beat that necklace Thomas got you for your birthday, you haven't taken it off since he gave it to you."
She blushed, playing with the necklace around her neck.
"Well I know what I want..."
Charlotte zoned out as Lucy began to list off all of the things she wanted that year for Christmas, as did Jordan.
Instead she focused her attention on a pretty bracelet she had spotted in a shop window.
Jordan smirked, he now knew what to get her.
"Can we finally get some food now?" He whined.
She checked her phone, "Oh crap, it's almost six. I guess we should go somewhere for dinner."
Jordan's eyes widened, "You really mean it!? We get to eat?"
She nodded with a laugh. He dragged the two girls to a diner, holding both of their bags to try to speed them up.
"I will have the cheeseburger with a side of fries and a large Oreo milkshake please," Jordan ordered.
"You weren't kidding about being hungry," Lucy pointed out as her small salad arrived.
Jordan scoffed, "Charlotte please tell me you aren't going to be eating this rabbit food."
She shook her head with a smile, "I'm starving too."
She ordered the same as Jordan and they both happily munched on their food as Lucy sat eating her salad, quite content with the meal.
Charlotte's phone began to ring and she frowned, looking at the unknown number, before excusing herself from the table.
"Hello?" She said, unsurely.
"Hello, is this Charlotte Mortez?"
"Yes."
"I'm from the Aukland hospital I believe your brother is a patient here, is that correct?"
Charlotte froze, "Yes, that's correct."
"Well then I must ask you to come to the hospital as I have some news on behalf of his recovery."
