"Seriously Iris? You're forcing me to go to homecoming?" I asked as Iris pulled me towards the assembly for sophomores. "Yes! You didn't go last year, so you're going this year." She giggled as we entered the auditorium before sitting down.
Students filed in behind us and sat down in the empty seats. The school's 'bad boy', Joshua, sat behind me in the auditorium. Every girl drooled over him, and I'm not going to lie, so do I. His tall figure, his dark brown eyes, or just his style in general. Joshua's usual outfit consists of a leather jacket with a black muscle shirt underneath, paired with ripped jeans and just some sneakers of some sort. He pulls it off good, and I can't get enough of it.
"Iris, I seriously don't want to go to homecoming this year." I sighed as I leaned back against the seats. "Please! You have to get over Jamie, and I know homecoming will help!" Iris exclaims. "I'm over Jamie, I just don't want to get hurt." I whispered as the principal approached the microphone on the stage. "Now shush, I'm not getting in trouble like last time." I giggled before turning my attention to the administrator on the stage. I heard a deep chuckle behind me, but chose to ignore it.

"See! Isn't homecoming fun?" Iris asked as she joined me with her boyfriend at our table. "Yeah, totally." I sighed as I looked out over the dance floor. My best friends were all dancing with their dates, and I was all alone. It was pretty pathetic.
"Oh come on! There's has to be someone here that doesn't have a date either." Iris sighs as her boyfriend walks away to get them some drinks. I never really caught his name, but he seems cool. He looks like the type to be named like 'Connor' or something along those lines.
"There's not." I said, trying to keep my cool. I was tired of her trying to force me into relationships. Obviously, I understand she's just trying to help me out, but honestly? I don't think I'm looking for a relationship just yet.
"Sure there is-!" Iris started, but I cut her off. "Stop! I don't want to go out with anyone!" I exclaimed before standing up and pushing past everyone to get to the front door. Pushing past Joshua, who was walking in, I walked out to the hallway and went outside to sit on the stairs. "Angel!" Someone called out after me as I tucked my head into my knees. The owner of the voice sat down next to me on the ground.
"You okay?" Joshua softly asked. His warm body presence made me calm down in general. "No, but why do you care? How do you even know my name?" I asked as I looked over at the brown eyed boy next to me.
"I don't know you very well, but you're obviously upset. Plus, you're in my English two class. You sit at the front of the room." Joshua points out as I wiped my mascara off of my face. As I attempted to calm down, I glanced around the parking lot to see no one else around. "Thank you." I sniffled as he gently placed a warm hand on my back.
"Do you want to talk about what happened?" Joshua softly asked. This was a side of him I never saw. I usually saw him getting in fights or something like that, I've never actually seen the sweet side of him.
"I just want to get home and change into pajamas before crying my self to sleep." I confessed as I looked up into his brown eyes. "No, please don't do that." Joshua gently says before cautiously hugging me. It was a new feeling, but I honestly really liked having him hug me. "Thank you." I gently smiled before leaning into him. "Um, Can I take you somewhere?" Joshua asked as we let go of each other. Gently nodding, I pulled my head off his chest reluctantly. "As long as I can change. This dress is pretty and all, but it's insanely itchy." I softly said as the two of us stood up.
"I brought my motorcycle, I hope that's okay?" Joshua points to the motorcycle across the parking lot. "Your supposed to have tennis shoes and pants on when riding a bike." I giggled as we neared it. "It's not a long ride, I promise." Joshua promises as he opens a small container in the back. I took my opportunity to see what he was wearing. The brown eyed boy was wearing a black button up without a tie and some black dress pants with black converse. It kind of went along with my black and white dress.
"By the way, you look nice." I pointed out as he slid a helmet over my head. "Thanks." He smiled before turning his head away from me. I could have swore I saw a blush, but maybe it's just the blur of tears in my eyes. The two of us climbed onto the bike before speeding off.

Joshua took me to a small outlet mall so I could get a change of clothes before heading out to where ever he wanted to take me. Joshua had a small bag on the side of his bike, so he let me keep my dress there.
It didn't take us long to arrive at a small diner. The two of us got off the bike and walked inside after setting our helmets down. "Thanks for taking me to that store." I said as we sat down at a table. "It's no problem." Joshua beams as we glance over the menu.
"Hey, I just want to say thanks for taking my mind off of everything after the dance." I gently said. "Like I said, it's no problem." Joshua laughs before ordering for the two of us.
"I have a question." I said as she walked away. "Shoot." He says as he leans on his forearms against the table.
"Why are you so nice to me? You're usually keeping your distance from everyone except your friends?" I softly asked. "I don't know honestly. When I saw you crying, I knew something was wrong because you're always smiling or laughing." Joshua softly said as he rubbed the back of his neck.
It took me back when I realized he had to be watching me to know my personality.
"Wait. So you've been watching me?" I joked, but I'm not sure if he got that part. "No! I sometimes glance around in the cafeteria and you're usually laughing." Joshua exclaimed, trying to cover himself.
"I was kidding, Joshua." I giggled. "Oh." Joshua laughed.
Joshua and I continued to make small talk throughout our stay at the diner.
