It was a cold and windy February friday morning, Seth went to get his work out in early and Becky was cozy under a fuzzy blanket on the couch talking to Charlotte, the kids were with Seth's parents so that she and Seth could have a little time to themselves before the new baby arrived.
Charlotte was 3 days overdue and was getting antsy for their son to arrive. "he'll come when he is good and ready" Becky told her.... "at least you don't have ol man winter tryin to make a mess of things with huge fookin blizzard!" "hopin our wee one stays put a little longer till the storm passes" she said.
Joshy kept looking out the window as Seth began working out, "it looks like it is gonna let loose any minute!" he said "the wind is picking up and the flakes are getting huge" "Aw shit" Seth said..."i am so OVER winter this year!" "you and everyone else in the midwest" he said "i've never seen so many news stories and articles about school closings, and late starts ever!" "and i have neer seen WWE have to postpone so many events due to winter weather on the east coast." Seth said "ol man winter must be off his meds this year" the two friends chuckled as he put Seth through his paces.
45 min into the workout he tapped Seth on the shoulder as he was grabbing his water bottle... "was becky going to do any cleaning or walking or anything today?" he asked him "nae, she was just gonna relax and catch up on the DVR shows she likes till i got home, then we were gonna watch movies for the rest of the day" "why?" he asked "her heart rate has been fluctuating and now its up and staying up" he said showing Seth his app "it did that earlier went back to normal for awhile, then went back up" "gimme a min" he said as he called home. "no answer" he said with concern in his voice.. "maybe she is taking a nap?" Joshy said as he watched his app while Seth banged out the rest of his set. Seth was nearly through with his next set when Joshy said "her heart rate is up again you better get home" Seth nodded and sprinted into the locker room pausing to do some quick cool down stretches.
Seth flew out of the locker room with his bag in hand and ran out in to the snowstorm "I'll keep you posted" Seth hollered at him Joshy waved as Seth drove away and headed for home as fast and as safely as he could due to the weather conditions. he parked in the driveway (which the neighbor had blown for him)
"BECKS??" he called out has he came inside and kicked his boots off by the door there was no response he looked in the kitchen and the living room... no becky he ran upstairs to their bedroom the bed was made but becky wasn't in there or in the bedroom "BECKS???" he called out again as he ran to check the laundry room and the garage. as he stepped back in from the garage he heard the doorbell going crazy!
he ran to the door and looked out it was their neighbor Steve. "took care of your driveway friend" "had to" he said "ambulance would have gotten stuck" "oh ok" Seth said absentmindedly... ""wait..... the what??!" "the ambulance son" he said bout thirty min after you left, "your wife called to see if me or my kid could clear your driveway." "while i ckeared the snow, my wife Angie kept her company and ended up having to call 911 when she started having frequnt contractions "SHIT!" Seth said...... I gotta go!!!!!"
he threw his coat on grabbed the bags from upstairs and then hauled ass as fast and as safe as he could to get to the hospital. when he got there he was directed to the labor and delivery floor, from there he was id'd and given a bracelet with info on it... he was then taken to wash up really well and get a gown on. and then taken to becky's room. as he got closer to the door, he heard the nurse being a crab ass and rather rudely told Becky she needed to strip down and get in her hospital gown and get into bed so they could hooke up the fetal monitor. "oh" she added snidely "the bling bling is gonna have to go... miss thing.. lose the earings and the finger bling!" "excuse me??" Becky said "your attitude smells worse than a bin of dirty nappies!" "i WOULD gladly change if you would leave the room and stop starin at me like i am some sort of freak you PERV"
