As they waited for their bags in the baggage claim area, Roman and seth chatted. "the kiddos gonna be at summerslam? he asked Seth. "I havent seen them in awhile, and im sure my godson is getting big. "I doubt it" Seth said "Becky is having a hard time dealing with all the rumors and crap that are being spewed about me, and she doesn't want the kids around mandy and her juvenile BS" "well tell Danny, Kayleigh, mandy and colby that uncle roman loves them and will come visit soon." seth smiled and nodded and said he would.
the two friends grabbed their bags and got their rental car and head out into the blistering texas summer sun. "whoa!" roman chuckled "hope the autograph sessions and meet greets are indoors." "we'll melt if they aren't" seth said.
once Seth was settled into his hotel room, he called home and left a message for Becky with his room info. "probably running errands or took the kids to the park" he thought to himself as he settled in for a quick nap."
the days flew by quickly. Mandy tried her foolish BS several times, and was put in her place by Charlotte, Lexie , and Braun. she posted several pictures of herself with Seth on her social media, and hunter and Stephanie made sure that wwe's social media team deleted them. Seth found a text from Becky when he got out of the shower later that day that said "WTF... man just... WTF!"
"she is delusional" he replied "those photos are doctored and you know it.. " "they still haven't told me who my partner is for the mixed match challenge finals." he added " my luck it will be someone lamer that my last partner-- if that's even possible. Becky replied back "at least you know it won't be mae young " "very true" he said.
"im going to try and get some sleep" Seth told her, "just a couple more days and I will home with my kids, and my beautiful wife" he said. "goodnight baby, I love you" "goodnight" Becky said.
(3PM SUMMERSLAM SUNDAY)
Seth was pacing like a caged animal backstage, he still didn't know who his partner was for the mixed match finals. "this is ridiculous!" he said to Corey "I am going to look like an idiot out there, and its all because I haven't been told who my partner is yet..." "my team will have nothing prepared..."
"damn, that sucks!" Corey said "I can't believe they haven't given you that information yet." "I am totally counting the hours until I can go home for a few days just to get away from this nonsense" Seth said. "hang in there man, you got this" Corey said as he headed off to find Carmella.
the show got off to a hot start when R Truth pinned Drake maverick to become the IC champion. the next match was the mixed match challenge finals. "Team figure 8" was introduced first. then Seth's music hit and he came out. "and from Irlanda Dublen city mexico... amora para siempre!!"
Charlotte and Andrade shot each other funny looks outside the ring as Seth stood in the ring and stared towards the ramp. festive music blared as the masked luchadora came to the ring doing backflips and cartwheels and the crowd loved it. seth shot charlotte a look that said "why me?"
Seth and Andrade started off the match and the action was hot and heavy.. after being punished by seth for awhile, Andrade tagged in charlotte - amora got in the ring and got a few shots in on charlotte and the crowd was getting into it. amora went for a move off the top rope and charlotte sent her crashing to the floor. the ref was trying to separate seth and Andrade as charlotte threw amora into the steps and ringpost. the ref started the 10 count and charlotte got back into the ring. amora made it in at the count of 8, and tagged Seth.
Seth and Andrade fought back and forth and during one exchange Andrade knocked amora off the apron. seth clobbered Andrade and went to check on her she shoo'd him off and got up on to the apron. Andrade tagged charlotte. Amora entered and dropped charlotte with a huge dropkick followed by a couple quick snap suplexes. Amora then caught her by surprise with a crucifix, and got the 1 2 3 for her team. the ref missed charlottes foot in the ropes.
"AND THE WINNERS OF THE MATCH... SETH ROLLINS AND luchadora siempre-- Team amora siempre!!!!!" the ring announcer said. Seth turned to congratulate her but she had already gone to the back. after a couple more matches, it was announced that luchadora siempre would take on mandy rose and charlotte in a triple threat for the vacant raw womens title (women's champion Tamina had to vacate the title after severely injuring her neck in freak accident when she inadvertently stepped off the edge of the stage prior to a raw show.)
Mandy came out first, followed by Charlotte and then Lunchadora Siempre. the crowd went crazy for her. the match was crazy from start to finish, and all 3 women took a beating. the finish saw luchadora siempre get knocked out of the ring and Charlotte make mandy tap to the figure 8. the crowd went nuts! Charlotte was now a 17 time women's champion!! luchadora hugged her and then disappeared to the back. Mandy was livid at the outcome of the match and stormed backstage.
she screamed at anyone an everyone and pitched a worse hissy fit than a 13 year old girl.. charlotte was congratulated backstage. the main event of the night saw Seth and sheamus fight to almost the full time limit, and at the last second, seth connected with a superkick and a stomp for the pin. "THE WINNER OF THE MATCH AND NEEEW UNIVERSAL HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION-- SETH ROLLINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" the ring announcer said. the crowd was going crazy, Seth had been universal champion before, but, after getting swerved by management the title alluded him for quite awhile-- the fans were thrilled he finally he had it back.
Seth made his way backstage and was greeted with a hug from sheamus "you were amazing out there lad" he said. "I know you'd rather have a hug from a certain irish lass.. but hey, im irish too" he chuckled. Seth laughed as charlotte teased him cause he was blushing at the thought of holding becky close.
