Chapter 23

"She looks like a little angel"  Becky's dad said  "behaved better 'n  you did when you were baptized lass" he added teasing Becky.   her mom smiled at her and "said tis true... all ya did was cry and cry the whole bloody time."

Becky blushed and giggled "only time ye stopped was when the holy water was put on yer wee head." her mom added.    they finished taking pictures on the stpes at the church and headed to their vehicles to go back to becky and seth's for lunch and cake.  Seth ran upstairs as soon as they got home to change out of his suit so he could get the grill fired up. BEcky took Kayleigh up to change her and  changer own clothes.

Seth and Becky's dad and his brother helped him with the tables and chairs and getting the grill set up..  while Seth and Beckys mom's got stuff finished up in the kitchen.   10 minutes passed. then 15.... then 25... Becky still hadn't come back down with Kayleigh...Seth started up the stairs to check on her when the doorbell rang.  he looked out and saw Dean and Renee standing at the door.".

"sorry we're late" Renee said "he just had to go back to the hotel and get out of his suit" she chuckled... "don't get me going on the road construction either" Dean added with a laugh.   "i feel ya on the suit and the roads" seth said.  

Seth steppeed to the side so the could come inside and as he went to shut the door her heard " a gentleman NEVER shuts a door in a lady's face."  Seth chuckled as he opened it back up and let lacey in.  "i don't see a lady at the door" dean whispered to seth.. Renee heard him and elbowed him in the ribs and shot him a look that made him be quiet.

"Hey Seth lad, think the grill is ready for the meat" Becky's dad called from  backyard.  "coming!" he hollered..  as he started to head towards the back door he remembered Becky was upstairs... and stopped in his tracks.  "lacey? " he asked quietly "can you go up and check on Becky and Kayleigh?  they have been upstairs since we got back."   "sure thing sweetie."  she said. "mama probably just need a little nap."

Seth went to get the food on the grill and Renee looked at Lacey and said quietly.. "Seth said she has been acting off the last couple days."  Lacey nodded and the two women went upstairs.  Kayleigh was asleep in her crib, and Becky was laying half changed on the bed, her make up was a mess...

"Lordy me" Lacey  said.. "what's the matter mama?"  "i don't know" she admitted  "one minute im fine the next minute im a wreck..."  "dr mcintyre says its just my hormones trying to level out after the pregnancy."  she added "what a fookin rollercoaster!" she chuckled.  "its nothing a good workout or fight wouldn't cure." she smiled.

"you know what she told you" Lacey said sternly  "i know" she said. "doesn't help that i am worried about me stupid arse plank of a brother."   "4th drink driving arrest in less than 5 months" she said disgustedly."  "me mum and pop  have washed their hands of him."    

Renee patted her on the shoulder and said "hopefulyy the courts can get him the help he obviously desperately needs"  Becky nodded.  Renee heard Kayleigh babbling in the other room so she went to check on her.

as soon as she left the room, Becky shut the door and  said to Lacey "can i ask you something....... mum to mum?"  "of course honey" she said. "thats what friends are for"  "does it get any easier to balance being a mum while still being a good wife and lover to your husband?" she asked blushing.  "or is he always gonna be pushed aside?"

"oh honey!"  she said "the one you love should never be pushed aside or made to feel like they are second fiddle to their baby or babies."  she said.  " you need to make time everyday for you and Seth to just spend time together and talk and relax together.....  reconnect as a couple." she continued.  "maybe even a date night once a week or once a month.. where you leave Kayleigh with someone you trust... so you and Seth can spend quality time together."
