"Who attacked who?" Max asks and picks up a stone and throws it off the cliff we are standing on.
It's the next Monday and the boys and I decided to skip our last class for Dylan's sake. He is still awfully depressed over his girlfriend, or now, ex girlfriend. The first thing he did when he got the chance to talk face to face with her, was to break up. I wasn't there but I heard it was a hell of a chaos.
Liam is sitting next to Dylan a few feet away from us, talking. Liam is the best of us to comfort other people. I suck at it. I mean, how am I supposed to know what to do with a seventeen year old high school boy who just witnessed his first ever heartbreak?
Max and I are standing on the edge of the cliff, trying to analyze how high it is and if it's safe to jump into the water below. I would guess that it's around 22 feet high or something around that. Hopefully there isn't just some big rocks at the bottom of the sea.
"Dylan, it was Dylan," I answer the question Max had wondered over. Sighing, I also pick up a stone and try to throw it further away than Max managed. Max glances over his shoulder to watch Dylan.
"I should have been there," he states and turns back to me and looks at my wounds that still haven't healed completely. "You two look like shit."
"You were too busy seducing Georgi, remember?" I spit out perhaps a little bit too harsh, but it's the truth.
"I was not!" he defends himself. I give him a glare and he mutters something I can't hear.
I think he feels a little guilty. He has used most of his freetime hanging out with Gerogi these past weeks. Max always says that I can't possibly understand because I've never had true feelings for anyone. The first part is actually true, I don't understand. On a second thought, the other part is too.
I glance over the cliff one last time before taking off my black t-shirt and tossing it to the ground next to me.
"So are we gonna jump or what?" I raise my voice so that Dylan and Liam also can hear me. Liam stands up and also removes his shirt.
"I'm in," he announces after forming his hands in a circle and putting them by his mouth so that we could hear him better.
I nod and look over at Dylan, who sighs but rises up from the ground. That's the spirit. A smile takes over my face.
The same second as I turn back to face Max, he is already running towards the edge. He puts his hands in the air and shouts "Suckers!" as he jumps off the cliff. I watch him make his way towards the ocean. His big eagle tattoo on his back looks amazing from here. It doesn't take long until water splashes everywhere. Max pops his head up from the water a few seconds later with a huge smirk on his face.
"Come on guys!" He yells.
I take one last deep breath before mumbling "fuck it" and bursting towards the edge. The cold wind takes control over my body as I jump. It feels like minutes past before I reach the water level and sink under it. The ocean is clear blue so it's pretty easy to find your way back to the surface. When I'm back above the water I start to laugh my lungs out, probably because of the adrenaline kick I received.
It doesn't take long until Liam and Dylan jumps down, keeping their hands locked in each others.
"Pussys," Max whispers underneath his breath which makes me laugh out even more. He is, like myself, a complete jerk and he even looks like one with his lip piercing, jet black hair and the amount of tattoos covering his body.
Liam and Dylan soon hit the water and we all start to make our way back to the shore. We climb back up to the cliff were we abandoned our stuff, including the towels.
"I've been meaning to ask you this. Did you get home safely on Friday night?" Liam questions as we reach the top of the cliff again. Dylan and Max chats about something else in front of us.
"Yeah, why?"
"Um, you had just got your ass beaten up and after I returned to the spot that I specifically told you to wait on, you weren't there," Liam explains like all of this should be obvious.
"Lacey walked me home and stayed for the night so it was fine," I blurt out. Liam's eyes open up wide, clearly surprised.
"Stayed over? I can't believe this," he mutters with a shocked expression. "Guys! A girl slept over at Alex's place for the first time!" This catches Dylan's and Max's attention and they walk right over to us. Max lifts his hand up to give me a high five which I don't return. Their reactions are stupid.
"Oh shut up, it was nothing like that," I state with my arms crossed over my stomach. The guys still look overly hyped about this. "Jonathan asked her to stay over," I add so that they could chill the hell out. It literally wasn't a big deal at all.
"Still dude, not a single girl has stayed over at your place since Amy..." Max babbles but trails off in the middle of the sentence as he realizes what he's about to say. I give him a murderous glare before turning to walk away. "Shit" I hear him mumble before he begins to follow me.
"Leave me alone," I tell him, not looking behind me as I walk forward.
"Sorry bro, it wasn't my intention to bring that up," Max calls out a bit rushed and panicked. "It just came out," he adds when I don't respond.
"I said, leave me the hell alone!" I shout and stop walking to look Max straight in the eyes so that he would get the message. Then I turn back to my escape path and rush away. Perhaps I'm overreacting, but I can't bear to hear Amy's name without getting a breakdown.
