I wake up and my eyes adjust to the light. I groan as I sit up in my bed. My head is pounding like crazy.
"What the hell," I complain, dragging my hands over my face.
I'm wearing a dress instead of my pyjamas, which reminds me of yesterday. Slowly all the memories start coming back to me.
"Holy shit," I mutter and get up from the bed. I make my way to our kitchen and take out some painkillers. Grabbing a glass of water, I swallow the pills.
I remember having quite a lot to drink yesterday. I remember the knife threat that I witnessed and then...
Alex picked me up.
Why the hell did I call him of all people?
Even though I was embarrassing as hell, I'm glad he got me home in one piece without my dad waking up.
I walk over to the bathroom and take a long shower. I still smell like the lake water from yesterday and I'm eager to get rid of that smell.
Thinking about how I just stripped out of my dress yesterday without thinking of the consequences annoys me and embarrasses me at the same time. I'm glad I didn't do anything worse though, who knows what could've happened.
Alex saw me like that. I feel my cheeks heat up. My thoughts wander to his toned body and his gorgeous sky blue eyes.
God Lacey, stop it.
He was really nice to me yesterday though. He wasn't acting like a jerk as he usually does. I have to thank him when I meet him on Thursday.
When I'm done with my shower I get dressed. I decide to put on some grey sweat shorts and a simple white t-shirt. As I pick up my phone I notice that I've gotten a call from Georgi. If I remember correctly, I recall her just leaving me at Boston's yesterday. It kind of upsets me, but I understand that she didn't want to drive me home when she had been drinking.
"Lacey, how're you feeling?" she immediately asks me as she answers her phone.
"I'm okay, just a headache," I assure her.
"Good. I think we drank a little bit too much yesterday, especially you," she says and I grimace.
"Yeah definitely."
"I'm sorry for just leaving you. How'd you get home?" she asks me, her voice sounding a apologetic.
I contemplate whether or not to tell her about my night. She would probably freak out, again, but since she's my best friend I decide to tell her anyway."Alex drove me home," I explain.
"What!? Are you serious," she asks shocked.
"Yup..." I trail off.
"Omg Lacey! I didn't think he was the kind of person that would do that."
I shrug but remember that she can't see me. "Yeah but he kind of owed me after all."
"True, but still, wow."
She asks me a few more questions about him and I make sure to not answer her with too many details.
"Do you know what happened to Andy?" I ask her after I'm done responding to her questions.
"I don't know the whole story. Traci was pretty drunk so she doesn't remember much. But I heard the police showed up and that they arrested him."
"Wow, things really escalated," I say, raising my eyebrows.
"Yeah they did. His girlfriend broke up with him too."
