The beige couch feels comfortable underneath me. My whole body gets goosebumps from the basso streaming from the subwoofers. I brought our subwoofer from home and Dylan also took his with him to get a better effect. We struggled a long time with connecting them to the other devices. The outcome was definitely worth all the effort we put into it.
Liam's at the computer, trying to make a good playlist. Dylan's beside him, biting his tongue in concentration. Liam points to the screen and looks at Dylan. Dylan shakes his head and says something in return.
Dylan and I have been here now for 2 hours, helping with the arrangements for Liam's birthday party. Liam told us that people will start showing up in about ten minutes. So here I am, waiting for this sick party to begin.
I pick up my phone but get startled as I see the black nail polish on my nails. I will never get used to it. It's a part of my costume, if you even can call it that. I'm supposed to be an e-boy. I'm wearing a white long-sleeved shirt with blue stripes underneath a black t-shirt with some kind of print.
Dylan's older sister Mary has done a skeleton makeup look on him. Liam is some kind of scary clown. He has used loads of hair gel to get his hair to stay slicked back. It's different from his usual style but it's pretty cool.
"Where's the birthday boy?" Kellen Pollard shouts overly excited as he enters the room with his girlfriend. Kell were one of my best friends in elementary school but then he moved to Ohio. He came back to begin his freshman year in Northwood High. Now he's playing in the football team with Liam.
"Over here," Liam responds and Kell's head snaps to him.
"You made it through 17 years, not bad," Kell grins at him. "Now tell me where the beer keg is hidden." His girlfriend elbows him.
"In the kitchen jackass," Dylan tells him.
Kell grabs the chicks arm and starts leading the way to the beer keg.
"He will never grow up." Liam shakes his head with a smile.
"Yeah, tell me about it," I say and stand up from the sofa to follow the couple.
The kitchen counter is lined up with all kinds of liquid. We brought anything we could get hold of. It's actually not that much because we thought the keg would do most of the work.
Kell fills one red cup with beer and gives it to the girl. Then he lifts up another cup and shifts his gaze to me.
"You want anything, Alexander?" Kell smirks. He knows I prefer to be called Alex. I roll my eyes.
"Give me some nice mixture."
"Will do." Kell picks up a vodka bottle and pours the content into the red cup. After that he reaches for an energy drink and fills the rest of the cup.
"Do you wanna kill me?" I ask with my eyebrows up in the air.
"Relax Alexander," Kell chuckles. "You're gonna be fine." Kell gives me a challenging look and I narrow my eyes at him.
"We will see about that," I say, snatching the cup from his hand. Kell's goofy grin has returned. He turns back around to make an identical mixture to himself. Then he lifts the cup up.
"Let's get the party started!"

The people are divided in two rooms. Liam's parents' house isn't that big so it's pretty packed. Two-thirds of the guys here are from the football team. I know some of them from before. Then here's their girlfriends, they are either hot or cheerleaders, some are both. So classy. Liam also invited Oliver and some of his sophomore friends. They are keeping things casual because neither of them have come out to their friends yet.
