Third wheeling Georgi and Max isn't exactly the ultimate to do. Don't get me wrong, they're definitely a cute couple, but sitting in the backseat of Max's car, listening to them being all sweet to each other is awkward to say the least.
Their costumes are matching, as Georgi was implying they would. They're dressed as Harley Quinn and the Joker. Georgi is wearing very short shorts, but Max doesn't seem to mind.
I, on the other hand, am dressed as the Little Red Riding Hood. It was the nicest costume I could find in the store that we went to. It consists of a red skirt, a black and white shirt and, of course, a red cloak.
Max parks the car on Liam's driveway. Since his house is not too big, I can already tell that it's going to be crowded in there. Georgi walks beside Max to the front door and I trail after them. They step inside together, leaving me standing outside alone. I bite my lip in annoyance before following them into the house.
The music is already loud and I can feel the basso beating through my body. I scan the house and see Georgi and Max talking to some random people.
Then my eyes meet his.
He's not standing too far away from me, but definitely close enough so that I can see that he's staring straight back at me.
I try to tear my eyes away. I know I should, but his gaze is way too capturing, like it's always been.
After way too long I manage to look away. I walk up to Georgi, trying not to seem bothered at all. She smiles at me and takes my hand.
"Let's go and dance!" she shouts and begins dragging me away. I laugh. I'm glad she's not stuck to Max at the moment but I know from experience that she can't stay away from him for too long.
We make our way to the dancing crowd. Georgi starts spinning around and swinging her hips to the music. I laugh at her at first, but then I decide to join her.
I don't see Liam anywhere, which is a shame since I'd really like to chat with him, but I assume he's busy with keeping this party going.
Georgi starts moving closer to the speakers and I follow her. Her two pony tales are swinging back and forth as she jumps. My costume is not the most comfortable thing to dance in but I suppose it works.
After a while I grow more and more tired and I start to slow down. Georgi looks over her shoulder and starts smiling widely. I follow her gaze until my eyes land on Max. Of course. She looks back at me as if unsure of what to do.
"Go!" I shout, nodding towards Max at the same time. Georgi gives me a grateful smile and runs over to his side. She swings her arms around his neck and kisses him passionately.
I shake my head at both of them and start making my way to the kitchen. I definitely need a drink. I choose one at random and then proceed to sit down on a couch nearby.
"Oh hi! You must be Lacey!" I look up from my seat to meet a pair of eager green eyes. The girl that they belong to is smiling widely as she sits down next to me. She's dressed in long robes decorated in red, which makes me think that she's supposed to be a Harry Potter character.
"Yup, that's my name," I say. Who is this girl anyway?
"You probably don't remember me. I'm Vivianne, but everyone calls me Viv. We kind of met at the beach party when my bestie got really drunk," she laughs and swings her chestnut brown hair over her shoulder.
I think back to that night at the beach party. I remember finding Alex lying on the ground almost passed out and then taking him home. The previous events of that night are a bit blurry.
