Max and I are sitting in his blue car on Monday morning. He has an Audi which he got from his parents as a birthday present when he turned sixteen. I always call it a looser car but he is quick to point out that I don't even own one.

"Are we gonna pick up Dylan?" I wonder, turning off the music so that we could hear each other.

"Nah, he got a ride from his new girlfriend. Have you seen her? She is extremely hot," Max answers with a huge grin on his face which makes his lip piercing show better.

"Dude, easy with your thoughts there. She is off limits," I say, joking of course, because if this chick really is hot, I would totally go for it.

"No but seriously. Dylan is head over heels in love with her so if I were you I would stay away," Max throws a quick look at me before turning back to look at the road ahead. I leave the subject at that and silence fills the car.

My eyes are drawn to my left wrist where I have a tattoo. All my other friends are covered in thousands of tattoos but I only put something permanent on my skin if it's meaningful. Dylan's older sister owns a tattoo shop so we get them cheap and she doesn't have an age limit.

Max parks and I unbuckle my seatbelt before stepping out of his car. We walk up the stairs to the front door.

This is it. Here starts my last year at Northwood High school. I open the door and immediately spot Jonathan at his locker. He seems stressed as always with his stupid blue button shirt. Like seriously, couldn't he find something better to wear?

"Alex, why is Rachel walking straight towards your brother?" Max inquires from beside me.

"What?" I look at him with a question mark written on my face like I had heard him wrong.

"Now she's talking to him." My head snaps right back to my brother where I see a good-looking girl chatting with Jonathan. Without thinking, my feet decide to change my walking direction right to my brother and the girl named Rachel.

As I approach them, I get a better view on the girl. She has blonde long hair that reaches all the way to her hips. Green sparkling eyes looking confident. Her lips moving like they were dancing.

"Is there a problem here?" I question when I'm in their hearing range. Rachel's gaze moves from my brother to me and then back again to Jonathan, when comprehension slowly comes streaming down her face.

"Omg! I thought you have dyed your hair or something. Never in the whole world did I image that you had a twin! Why didn't you tell me? Anyway you have been kind of off lately? Did I do something?"

Is she for real? This girl literally never stops talking. All my thoughts of how beautiful she is vanished as soon as she opened her mouth.

"Not my twin," I simply say. "And it was an one night stand. Shit, get over it. I don't even fucking remember it." My brother's eyebrows lift up as the harsh words tumble down my tongue. He shouldn't be surprised, just because I'm talking to a girl doesn't mean that I would only use soft words.

Rachel begins walking away with a shocked expression, twirling her hair around her finger. Jonathan shakes his head and turns back to face his locker.

Liam sits down in front of me at the lunch table we always eat at. He scans the cafeteria with his dark brown eyes that almost seem black. He's wearing a white T-shirt and black jeans.

"Sup guys, haven't seen you in a while," he states, grabbing the metal fork with his left hand.

"Yeah, you haven't been to a party in a long time," Dylan notes. He's sitting next to Liam.

"I've been busy," Liam defends himself.

"I know just what you have been doing," Max mocks him and winks at him with his right eye.

"Shut up. I've been focusing on football. I need the scholarship, you know, everyone can't be spoiled brats."

"Chill out bro, I was kidding," Max says putting his hands up in surrender. Liam only gives him a 'really?' look and starts to chew on his food. Dylan and Max continue to babble about some shit and I fade out in my own thoughts.

I look down again at my wrist and drag my thumb over the tattoo. It says 2016. I shut my eyes closed and take a deep breath. Everything of that year is so fucked up and it will hunt me the rest of my life. It's like God hates me and my whole family, if he does even exist. Fuck, if he did exist he wouldn't had put me through all this crap. Isn't he supposed to bring happiness to the world? I take one last deep breath before opening my eyes.

They immediately catch something red, no that's wrong, not something, but someone. Her chocolate brown eyes light up the entire room and her red wavy hair swings from side to side as she walks forward. Without thinking my mouth falls wide open.

"Who is that?" I let out.

"Who?" Max scans the packed room with his thick dark eyebrows nearly together. "The girl with brown hair?"

"No, no. The other one." I answer staring right at her.

"Never seen her before," Dylan joins the conversation. He turns back to look at me after checking the girl out. "God Alex, you are like drooling all over your food!" He starts laughing.

When I finally get enough power to tear my eyes away from the stunning girl, I give Dylan a murderous gaze. Then I glance back to the spot where the girl was standing  just a second ago, but she has disappeared.
