"Crap!" I shout and slam the xbox console on the glass table in front of me. "When did you get so good at this game?"

"Since I've had time to practise when you have been out wasting your life partying." Jonathan turns to look at me and when he sees that he has catched my attention he grins. Son of a bitch.

"Like playing video games isn't a waste of time." I elbow Jonathan playfully.

"Well at least my health isn't affected of it," he states sincerely and lifts his eyebrows up in the air. I snort but don't come up with a good comeback, because even if I don't want to admit it, he has a solid point. "Look at that, my brother is speechless."

"Shut up Jonathan," I say with a monotonous tone. Jonathan chuckles and restarts the game. Since when does he think so highly of himself? I'm the older brother here.

I frown before picking the console back up and begin my hardcore playing. This time it's Jonathan's turn to sweat a little. My fingers starts to move as they were dancing. I notice that I caught Jonathan off guard with my adamant moves.

Suddenly my phone begins to buzz on the table. Shit, always when I have a flow going on something comes and disturbs it. My eyes snaps to the phone to read the caller id. It says Lacey.

Lacey.

It's nearly midnight at a Friday night and Lacey calls me? Worried, I throw the xbox console once again at the glass desk. Jonathan furrows his eyebrows at my action but stays silent.

"Hi it's me. Can you come and pick me up?" Lacey asks with a groggy voice.

"Lacey?" I say, now full of concern. "Where are you?"

"I'm at Boston's house. The cops will probably be here soon and I don't want to be here then."

"Cops? What the fuck? I will be there in ten," I blurt out and end the call. Jonathan analyzes me as I start to text Max to get a hold on the address. He answers quickly.

"Everything okay?" Jonathan asks with a worried expression.

"I don't know. Where does dad keep his car keys?" I jump up from the couch and turn to look at my little brother.

"Um, you don't have a license," Jonathan exclaims unsure.

"I asked, where does dad keep his fucking keys!?" I nearly yell with my patience running out.

"Probably in his bedroom, how would I know?" Jonathan utters, not helping at all.

I burst out of the basement and walk upstairs to my father's bedroom. He is out of town so it will be fine if I loan the car for a good purpose. It's not like he's going to find out anyway. Jonathan needs to keep his mouth shut and I will make sure he does.

As Jonathan had told me, the keys lay on my father's desktop. I snatch them in a hurry and rush to our garage where the car is located. We own a Tesla Model S, it's not the biggest car but it works for our family.

I open the door and jump into the driver's seat. It doesn't take long until I'm in front of the house Max sent me the address to.

My eyes immediately lock on the girl sitting on the ground in the driveway with a white gauzy dress. I park in front of her and hop out of the car.

"Are you okay?" I question as I approach her.

"Mhm," Lacey slurs and stands up. She wobbles and almost fall over but I get a hold of her just in time. Is she drunk? Lacey doesn't drink that much, does she?

"Wow, easy there," I say, now holding her in my arms. "How much have you had to drink?"

"Not that much," she giggles. I look down and meet her brown eyes. They seem unfocused.

"Let's get you home." I pat her on the back before leading the way to the passenger seat.

"No, not home," she protest and I look at her with a confused gaze. "My dad's there."

"Right," I mutter as comprehension hits me right in the face. I try to think of something to do. "You can sober up at the lake for a bit before I drive you home, sounds good?"

Lacey nods. I place my hand on her back and we begin to walk towards the lake. I can hear some sirens behind us and we raise our walking pace.

"You wanna tell me why the cops are showing up?" I ask Lacey even though she seems pretty out of it.

"Andy had a knife." My heart nearly stops as the words leave her tongue.

"He didn't hurt you, did he?" I stop walking and put both of my hands on her shoulders, gazing straight in her the eyes, worried as hell.

"No I'm fine."

"You sure?"

"Mhm" Lacey assures me, kind of. I exhale and begin to drag her forward all over again. It doesn't take long before we reach the lake.

I stare at the blue water which sparkles in the moonlight.

"I'm gonna go for a swim," Lacey states and takes off her dress. Holy shit. This girl is nuts.

"I don't know if that's a very good idea," I say, even though I would gladly join her if she wasn't dead ass drunk. "You don't wanna drown."

"You can join if you want to," she simply replies, making her way towards the water. I know I probably should stop her but... fuck it. My wild side takes over and I also start to undress myself, leaving me in only my boxers.

Lacey's eyes widen in the sight of me like my own does when I scan her body up and down.

"Are you gonna check me out all day?" I tease her and she blushes.

"Like you weren't checking me out as well," Lacey fires back. Damn where did all this boldness come from?

"Can't deny I wasn't," I grin at her. Lacey's cheeks turn even a deeper shade of red. Adorable.

I make my way closer to her and lift her up by the waist to carry her on my shoulder. She screams and I can feel her fists slamming against my back. I let out a laugh and Lacey giggles.

We make our way to the water. When I'm sure it's deep enough, I throw Lacey off my shoulder. Water splashes everywhere. Lacey rapidly comes back up to the surface and gives me a good push with both hands on my chest. My skin turns warm by her touch. I fall backwards and dive under the water.

An hour goes by quickly as we play around in the water like little kids. We walk back to the car with wet underwear underneath our clothes. Not the most pleasant moment of my life. Lacey has sobered up a little but is still drunk. Her makeup has washed off almost completely during our water battle.

We reach the car and I help her climb into the passenger seat. I walk to the other side of the car and start to drive.

"So where do you live?" I ask and glance over at her. Luckily it's warm outside so we don't need to freeze with our wet clothes.

Lacey tells me the address and I type it into the navigator. It isn't too far away. The neighborhood changes to smaller houses as we approach her house. We stop in front of a café. I step out of the car to open the door for Lacey.

"Should I walk you upstairs?" I wonder as she still doesn't seem stable enough to do it by herself.

"Yeah okay."

"Do you have the keys?"

"They should be here somewhere," Lacey states and starts to dig in her bag. She picks up a pair of keys and unlocks the door to the café. I place my arm over her shoulder and lead her up to the apartment. We stop by the door.

"You're gonna be okay?" I ask, now facing her.

"I think so," she answers. I nod and plant a kiss on her forehead.

"Take care," I utter and walk back to my dad's Tesla.
