I step out of my car and walk up to the grey house in front of me. It's Saturday morning and Georgi asked me to come over so that we could discuss... well, everything that's happened I guess.
I ring the doorbell and after a few seconds Mrs. Owens opens the front door. Her brown hair is tied in a bun and her eyes take me in.
"Hello Lacey. Here to see Georgina?"
I smile a little to myself when she uses Georgi's full name. Georgi doesn't like it when her mom does that, but there's no point in convincing her to do otherwise.
"Yeah, she asked me to come," I tell her.
She nods and steps aside to let me in. "How's your dad doing?"
"He's all right.". Small talk with my friends parents isn't something I like very much, but I know that Mrs. Owens is only being polite.
"Good, say hi to him from me, will you?" she says just as Georgi comes running down the stairs.
"I will, Mrs. Owens," I assure her.
"Lacey! Come on!" She motions for me to come and starts walking up the stairs. I give Mrs. Owens a small smile and follow Georgi.
I'm surprised to see that her room isn't all that messy. "Did you clean in here?"
Georgi sits down on her bed and I do the same. "No, I'm pretty sure this is my mom's doing." She looks around her room with a slightly suspicious expression.
"It's nice," I shrug. "You can actually see your floor." A small smirk plays on my lips.
She hits me playfully. "Oh come on! It's never that messy."
"Whatever..." I trail off with a smile and she rolls her eyes at me.
"Have you heard anything about Traci?" Georgi's expression turns serious.
Traci didn't come to school yesterday, which I assume is because of Boston.
"Only from Kimberly," I tell her honestly. "She says that Traci is dealing with it."
Georgi nods and bites her lip. "Are they back to being friends now?"
"Yeah, I mean, it's kind of obvious that Kimberly was telling the truth now."
"I suppose... I've never been through that kind of heartbreak before. I can't even imagine what it would feel like."
"I know, but I don't think you'll find out. Max is head over heels for you." I grin at her.
"Yeah." She smiles. "He's the best."
"You're lucky to have him."
She nods and looks away, her cheeks reddening. Then she shakes her head and turns back to me. "But enough talk about me, let's talk about you."
I furrow my eyebrows in confusion. "What do you mean?"
She rolls her eyes. "Don't pretend to be stupid, you know what I'm talking about. What happened between you and Mr. Handsome."
I laugh out loud. "What kind of nickname is that?"
"What? It fits. And don't try to steer off of the subject. You promised to tell me everything." She puts her hands down on the bed.
"Fine," I sigh and begin explaining.
I tell her about the homecoming party, how Alex and I had a great time until it got completely ruined. I tell her about my fight with Isabelle and lastly I tell her about how Alex and I almost kissed.
