The rest of my weekend goes by pretty quickly. I spend most of my time helping out in the café but also hanging out with Georgi and Kimberly. Traci doesn't answer our calls but I assume she's busy with Boston. Kimberly doesn't seem sad about it though, I don't think she's looking forward to meeting her.

On Monday morning I meet up with my my friends at our lockers.

"So did you guys like my party?" Traci asks Georgi and me.

"Yeah it was fun," I answer.

"Yeah you're lucky that the cops didn't show up! The music was really loud," Georgi says with a laugh.

"I guess I'm lucky that the neighbours didn't call them, but I'm pretty sure my dad told them that I was celebrating my birthday."

"You're so fortunate to have parents like that. My parents would kill me if they knew that I went to a party that big. I had to tell them it was just a small gathering between the four of us," Georgi says.

Kimberly looks pretty guilty about not having anything to add about Traci's party, but she doesn't say anything. It's almost as if she's trying to not get Traci's attention. I suppose she hasn't told Traci the truth about why she didn't come.

"It's really sad that you couldn't make it Kimberly, I heard you had a lot of homework?"

Oh no. I can't really decide if Traci seems mad about it or not.

"Oh yeah, my math teacher gave us a huge pile of homework that we had to finish before Monday," Kimberly says quietly. Her eyes don't meet Traci's.

"Really? And you couldn't have finished it during the weekend?"

Okay now Traci definitely seems kind of mad.

"No I-"

"You know if you didn't want to come you could've just told me? Don't try to come up with a lame excuse like that." Traci crosses her arms while she's speaking.

"It's not that I didn't want to come I just..."

"You what?"

Kimberly doesn't finish her sentence.

"Oh Traci, look at the time! Our class begins in two minutes!" Georgi says and grabs Traci's arm. "We really have to go or else we'll be late."

Traci rolls her eyes and starts walking away. Georgi gives Kimberly a reassuring smile and then follows Traci.

I turn to Kimberly but before I can tell her anything she interrupts me. "Don't say anything, okay?" I just nod and start making my way to my next class, which to my great disappointment is physics.

I walk into the class and just as I'm about to sit down I see something weird.

Is that, Alex?

No it can't be, he's a senior, isn't he?

My curiosity takes over and instead of sitting down at my usual table I make my way over to his. He doesn't notice me at first but when I sit down he looks up at me. He gives me a small smile and then goes back to checking his phone.

I try not to look at him as I take out my stuff. He doesn't have the same hair color as Alex, and I notice that he has some freckles, but he otherwise he pretty much looks just like him. He notices me watching him.

"Do I know you?" he asks.

"I was just about to ask you the same question," I say. "You look just like someone I met on friday."

"Was it by any chance my brother, Alexander?"

"Yeah that's why you look just like him!" I exclaim.

"I hear that a lot," he says with a smile that makes his dimples show.

"So what's your name?"

"Jonathan. What's yours?"

"Lacey."

I try to come up with something else to ask him so that our conversation won't die. "Do you like physics?"

"Well it's not my favorite subject, but I guess it's okay."

I'm about to answer him but I don't have time to do it before our teacher walks in and makes the whole class shut up. Mr. Jennings looks like he couldn't be more dissatisfied with his job. I'm surprised that he's still working here.

"Today we're going to talk about the laws of physics..." he starts talking with a monotone voice. The class goes on without any bigger events and we do some tasks that Mr. Jennings hands us. When the lesson is about to end Jonathan suddenly speaks up.

"Are you a good friend of Alex's?" he asks.

"Oh no, I was introduced to him on Friday."

He nods. "At the party?"

"Yeah, we played beer pong against each other," I tell him. He looks at his notes and scribbles something down.

"How did he seem?" he questions when he's done writing.

"Oh, uh, bored I guess? But after we played for he while he got pretty into the game. It seemed like he had a lot of experience," I laugh. Jonathan doesn't seem amused.

"Did he have a lot to drink? During the rest of the party?"

"I'm not really sure. I wasn't with him except for when we played. But I assume he did, his friend seemed kind of wasted."

Jonathan just nods.

"Is there any reason that you're asking?"

"No, no I'm just wondering."

After a few minutes the bell rings and I walk out of the classroom. I meet up with Georgi and tell her about my little meeting.

"What was he like?" she asks me.

"Well, different from his brother. At least that's what it seemed like."

We continue walking down the hall and out from the school. I had almost forgotten that physics was the last class of today.

"Do you want to come over to my place?" Georgi asks.

"I can't I'm sorry, I have to be at the café," I tell her with a sad smile.

"Oh okay. I'll see you tomorrow."

"Yeah, see ya."
