the six of us came to an abrupt stop, looking at our surrounding area. dammit, i knew there was something wrong about this place. the riot gear from the prison, glenn's orange bag, his pocket watch, daryl's poncho. these people, have our people now. we should've known.i was afraid, afraid of what these people wanted with us. i stood next to carl and lola, shivers were running down my spine from the cold. snipers and gunners surrounded us, and i saw the guy named gareth on the rooftop. "drop your weapons! now!"
all of us exchanged looks, silent looks of agreement to put down our weapons. we're surrounded, the only smart move would be to just put them down. slowly, all of us surrendered our guns and knives in front of us. i had a knife tucked in my bra they failed to find, so hopefully it could come to good use later.
after our weapons were dropped, we all glared at gareth, waiting for him to tell us on what to do next. "ringleader! go to your left! to the traincar, go. you do what we say, the kids go with you. anything else, they die and you end up there anyway. " meaning rick, gareth ordered. i sent a deathly glare to the leader, threatening to kill the kids? my daughter? that won't pass easily with me.
rick hesitated, but calm and alert, he walked towards the red train car on our left. "now the mama bear!" gareth shouted, giving me a look and nudging his head towards the train car. he meant me, guess my nickname is mama bear, suiting, but offensive coming from him.
i looked to lola, fear glimmered in her eyes intensely. i gave her a reassuring nod before following rick. then, michonne and daryl followed with nicknames of their own, samurai and archer. "ringleader, mama bear, archer, samurai, in that order!" following the dudes instructions, we got in the order he wanted us in.
my hair was in a messy bun, and the freezing wind blew my stray hairs to the side, which i had to constantly swap out of my face. "my son!" rick shouted loud enough for gareth to hear, "and her daughter!"
lola and carl stood close next to each other, and lola was shivering, either from fear, or cold, i couldn't tell. "go kids!" as soon as gareth gave them the ok, both carl and lola started walking towards us, but not too fast. "ringleader, open the door—and go in."
"i'll go in with the kids!"
"don't make us kill them now."
hearing gareth threatening the kids once again made my blood boil, my lip quivered in anger. with no choice, rick walked up the wooden stairs, sliding open the train-car door. i went in after him, and soon daryl and michonne did too.
the traincar was dark, and cold as soon as the people behind the kids closed the door. i pulled lola into a quick, tight hug, thankful she and carl didn't get shot on the spot.
the sudden sound of shuffling coming from the other side of the train-car made me curious, so i took a step forward to see who or what was in here. slowly, they all emerged from the dark, revealing their faces. it was most of us from the prison, bob, sasha, glenn, maggie, and some new faces. "rick?" i couldn't help but laugh in surprise, so i brung glenn into a hug first, glad he was safe.
"hey." maggie said in a soft voice, before pulling me into a hug as soon as i turned to her. i squeezed her tight before letting go, thank god they're okay.
and just because me and sasha were mutual acquaintances, i hugged her too. "you're here." rick said in a low voice as i pulled away from sasha, "you're here." i went back and stood next to rick, intertwining our fingers, and i think that gave everyone mostly a hint that me and him were together, from my guess.
maggie noticed rick glaring at the new faces in curiousity, "they're our friends. they helped save us." daryl nodded at maggie's statement, "yeah—and now they're friends of ours."
i nodded in agreement, if we're gonna survive, we're gonna have to work to do it, and we need all the people we can get. hell—the only reason i and the group made it this far is because of teamwork.
"for however long that'll be." the tall, masculine ginger retorted in a gruffly voice. "no." rick snapped back in a calm manner, taking a pause.
with his hand still locked in mine, rick took a step to the side, peering through the crevices of the train-car, where our only sunlight beamed through, "they're gonna feel pretty stupid when they find out."
"find out what?" the ginger queried with wonder, taking a step towards us. rick paused again, taking in a breath. we all looked to him, waiting for what his response was gonna be. "that they're screwin' with the wrong people."
