Mikayla's alarm sounds louder than ever, but she doesn't care because she's going to Diagon alley with her family. She puts on her royal blue dress with tights and black boots, completing the look with a black cloak. Mikayla meets Avery on the stair, who's wearing a green dress. They arrived in the dining room together, just as an owl swoops in and out of the window leaving the post. It was only the prophet today, "Oh dear, they still haven't found the culprit behind the attempt of robbing Gringotts" Their father reads in a lurking voice. "Do you have your lists girls?" Their mother asks, both Avery and Mikayla responded, "Yes Mammy." "Peppy get the floo powder." Mr. O'Brien asks calmly. Mr. O'Brien goes first, he grabs slightly less than a handful of powder, steps into the fire grate, throws the powder to the ground as he says "Diagon Alley." Avery follows her father mimicking his actions, then Mikayla goes kind of shouting Diagon Alley out of nervousness and lastly Mrs. O'Brien followed her families steps.

Madam Malkin's Robes for All Occasions was there first stop. A smiley squat witch in Mauve robes welcomes the family. "Hogwarts is it?" she asked rather quickly, putting the girls on a stool before Mrs. O'Brien responded yes. "Both of you starting this year?" Ms. Malkin asks Avery and Mikayla as her and her assistant begin pinning their gowns , "Yes, Madam." Avery spoke confidently and politely not a common mixture for her. Once they finished pinning the robes they boxed 3 each. Next was Flourish and Blotts where they got all their books, Mikayla couldn't wait to dive into them when she got home. Mrs. O'Brien got their cauldrons, gloves, hats, trunks, crystal phials telescope and brass scales while Mr. O'Brien was in the apothecary with the girls getting their supply of basic potions ingredients. "Ollivanders is our last stop" Fergal points out a black building with golden lettering spelling out: Ollivanders: Makers of Fine Wands since 382 BC. "I still remember the first time I came here." Their mother spoke cheerfully. She took a deep breath before pushing the door open and proceeding in, Mikayla, Fergal, Avery and a ringing bell followed her in. "I wondering when I was going to see you two again." An old man, with pale moonlike eyes, soft voice travelled around the shop. "Hello." Mikayla smiles kindly at the old man, who beams at the sight of her and Avery. "Twin girls, that look so very different but carry the same blood, most unusual." Ollivander peered into Mikayla's eyes, she felt as though he was looking straight into her soul. "Mikayla Alina O'Brien, bit of a bookworm but much like her mother shows potion and charms greatness." He turns to Avery, leaving Mikayla very confused. "Avery Imelda O'Brien, strong but not very academic, showing virtues for Transfiguration, and Potions." Ollivander scurried away, the sisters shared a confused glance, "Which is your dominate hand?" Ollivander asks across the counter, "Right, Sir" Mikayla answered quickly, "Left" Avery answered still a little dumbfounded. Two measuring tapes flew out behind the counter began taking measurements of arm length. A quill on the counter looked as though it was taking down the measurements. "That's enough." Ollivander called out, the tapes and quill laid lifeless in the last place they were. "Right then Mikayla, try this one, yew, dragons heartstring, 10 inches. Avery you try the Maple, Unicorn hair, 11 inches." Ollivander hands the girls the wands, they wave slightly, Avery shatters the lamp whilst Mikayla sets the quill on fire. "No, no. Swap ladies please." The girls did as they were told, Ollivander repaired the lamp and put out the fire. Mr. & Mrs. O'Brien stood patiently watching the girls, they waved their wands causing some wands to fall out of the selves. "No okay, Mikayla try this Mahogany, 11 inches with phoenix tailfeather. Avery, 12 and 3/4 inches Vine with Unicorn hair." Warmth filled the two girls once the two wands met their hands. "No need for a wave." Ollivander told the girls, "These wands have chosen you." The girls gives in a confused look, "The wand choses the wizard girls." Ollivander rings them up, "15 Galleons all together Fergal." Mr. O'Brien paid the old man before they all left. "We should probably get some extra parchment, ink and quills for you girls." Enya smiles, "I think I have enough Mammy." Avery looks down at her wrapped parcels. "I'd like some just to be safe." Mikayla admits, "Enya love, you bring Mikayla to get that stuff and I'll bring Avery home." Their parents agreed on the plan, Mikayla said goodbye to her father as she and her mother went and looked for Selinda's Stationary. They bought a lot more parchment, ink and quills to satisfy Mikayla's needs. "You definitely inherited my preparedness." Enya smiles at her daughter, who looks so much like her except the height, that's the O'Brien virtue.

Enya and Mikayla arrive home, greeted by Peppy who informed them dinner will be ready in 10 minutes. Enya dismissed Peppy and helped Mikayla carry her stuff upstairs. "Thank you, Mammy." Mikayla gives her mother a hug after all the heaving. Enya was a little stunned by this gesture, it's not that her kids never hugged her but this time it felt sad. The realization that her two daughters are going to be in a school, in a different country with no contact other than an owl, upsets her. What if they're separated? Avery shows Slytherin like her father while Mikayla could be in any house but Slytherin, and Mikayla isn't exactly a social butterfly or anything. Her worries thicken as Mikayla places her school books on her desk beside her birthday stationary, clearly about to dive in. "Dinner first darling." Mrs. O'Brien speaks quickly, "ok mam. I wonder what Pep made." Mikayla skips past her mother. "She's too pure to be alone for seven years." Enya speaks in a whisper in an attempt to comfort herself.
