Christmas Pt.1

December 24th was a busy day for Mikayla, since all her friends were over in England she had to wrap, address and find owls to send them Christmas presents. She got;
Ron a bouquet of magical candy
Harry a new wizard chess set
Hermione a book called Alchemy: Ancient Art & Science by Argo Pyrites.
Parvati Patil a box of Every-Flavour beans
Lavender Brown a jar of assorted sour strips
Fay Dunbar a box of crystallised pineapple
Neville a book called Goshawk's Guide to Herbology by Miranda Goshawk.
Seamus a poster of the National Ireland Quidditch team
Dean a poster, for a soccer team she heard him mention, of West Ham.
Fred a fanged frisbee, stink pellets and a box of cauldron cakes
George a Dr. Filibuster's Fabulous Wet-Start, Non-Heat Fireworks set and Chocolate Frogs.

Barcher and Selene left at 2pm for Hogwarts and returned by 6pm to make another trip, Barcher went to Hogwarts again and Selene went to Hermione's house to deliver a note about the Slytherin hangout and her present to Hermione. Mikayla wrapped her gifts for her family before putting them under the Christmas tree. Mikayla hasn't gotten around to asking her parents about Nicolas Flamel because they're so busy working she hasn't really seen them at all. Peppy has been taking care of her and her Twin sister.

"MERRY CHRISTMAS!!" Mikayla yells, her voice carried through the house. The groans of her family members informed her that nothing has changed in the O'Brien household when it came to Christmas. Mikayla loved Christmas, the presents, the food and the quality time with her family always made her the most excited for Christmas. She was wearing a festive red dress with silver earrings and her black boots. "Merry Christmas,Pep!" She greets the house elf, Peppy bows wishing a merry Christmas to Mikayla. She waltzes into the living room, four piles of gifts laid neatly on the floor. A pile for each family member, Mikayla got her camera and waited on the couch for everyone else to join her.

The family were now enjoying a fabulous Christmas dinner. Mikayla has gotten a nice range of gifts, Harry, Hermione and Ron had clearly worked together on her gifts as she received a 7 book series of Chadwick's charms by Chadwick Boot, Harry sent volumes 1-3, Ron 4&5, Hermione 6&7. Fred and George sent her cauldron cakes and chocolate frogs. Neville sent her a cool Gryffindor hat, Patil and Lavender sent more chocolate frogs. Mrs Weasley sent her a knitted jumper that was bright blue with 'M' in gold lettering on the front and a box of homemade toffees. Mikayla sent her back a thank you letter and wore her jumper for the rest of the day. Avery gave her another blank book, her parents gave her more stationary, some new clothes and film. "So how are you girls liking Hogwarts so far?" Mrs. O'Brien asks the girls once dinner was finished, Avery spoke first telling them all about her friends and how great the Slytherin common room is and how she's doing really well in Potions. Mikayla listened to her sister for 20 minutes just talking about school. When she finally stopped her parents looked at her, "I've made loads of friends, I'm getting top marks in every subject, and I feel like I really fit in at Hogwarts especially with the Gryffindors." She spoke smoothly and briefly not wanting to give her parents all the information that Avery had. They nodded smiling "great to hear your doing so well." Mr O'Brien spoke, "but we must be going now." He continued, Mikayla heart and face dropped, "But it's Christmas!" Avery whined, "You always get Christmas off! We've barely seen you since we got back." Mikayla added, "Well, we're need elsewhere." Mr. O'Brien responds coldly. "Are you going to be working on Christmas from now on?" Mikayla asked, "Most likely, we will be." Mrs. O'Brien frowned, she hated doing this. "Well from now on, I'll be spend Christmas at Hogwarts." Mikayla voice shook as she stood up and walked briskly away from the dining room and up to her room.

"You ok?" Avery spoke softly as she entered Mikayla's room an hour after her parents left for work. Mikayla reverted to do notes on the first charms book she got to distract herself. "I'll be fine. I'm just going to focus on my notes, you know go back to having my head berried in books." She shrug, not looking at her sister what-so-ever. "Look I know we aren't exactly fond of each other but I need someone to talk to about Draco." Avery spoke in an embarrassed tone, "So, I invite Pansy over." She spoke quickly, "Don't worry I'll be in here, staying out of the way." The doorbell rang, Avery stayed where she was, stuck on trying to say something, "You might want to answer the door." Mikayla brought Avery back to reality, Avery rushes to the door. "MERRY CHRISTMAS AV!" Pansy and other voices shouted. Mikayla heard people having a conversation downstairs whilst she continued to work.
