The hallways were pitch black, the only light was coming from the tips of Harry and Mikayla's wands, as they search the corridors for Peter. The paintings surrounding them were yelling furiously at them, for blinding them awake, Mikayla apologised to them, promising what they were looking for was important. Mikayla spotted Snape was close by as they both saw Peter run towards them, "Nox" they both whispered ridding the light from their wands. After Harry had cleared the map, Snape comes into view as he lights his wand pointing it towards the two Gryffindors.
"Potter! O'Brien. What are you two doing wondering the corridors at night?" Snape asked, "I was with Professor Dumbledore earlier and he told me to send a letter, I hadn't finished writing it until 30 minutes ago, and since it was dark, I asked Harry to come with me for extra protection, we were just on our way back to the common room." Snape stares Mikayla in the eyes, Mikayla knew all about Snape's ability to read minds but because she was an Aevus Seer, her mind would be too hard for him to read with a spell. "And who was this letter for and what was it about?" Snape continued to question clearly trying to catch Mikayla out. "I was sending a letter to the Minister of Magic, to try and persuade him not to kill Buckbeak as he is innocent after all." Snape looked rather impressed for a split second before turned to both of them, "You two are extraordinarily like your father's. They two were exceedingly arrogant, strutting about the castle." Snape spat, Harry defended them saying that their dad's didn't strut and neither did they. "Now if you don't mind, I'd appreciate it if you'd lower your wand." Harry stared into Snape's eyes, who held his wand like a loaded gun towards the pair. "Turn out your pockets." The pair did so, Mikayla pockets contained two hair bobbins, a chocolate frog and a note Fred had wrote her the day before. Harry pulled out the map that looked like an old piece of parchment. "What's that note about Miss O'Brien?" Mikayla turned bright red, "It's an invitation for a date, Sir." Harry turned to Mikayla, Snape looked a little stunned at Mikayla's honesty, before questioning Harry about the parchment he held. "Reveal your secrets." Snape spoke, something started to appear but it wasn't the map, "Read it." Snape demanded, Harry didn't look to pleased at this request. "Messers Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot and Prongs; offer their compliments to Professor Snape. And-" Harry paused, causing Snape to tell him to keep reading, "And request that he keeps his abnormally large nose out of other people's business." Mikayla pretended as though, the sentence that fell out of her friends mouth didn't shock her, as Snape went to yell at Harry, the pair were saved by the appearance of Professor Lupin. Snape turns quickly, his wand now pointing at Lupin, "Well well, Lupin. Out for a little walk, in the moonlight, are we?" Snape cool voice asks, Lupin ignores Snape, "Harry, Mikayla, are you alright?" Snape snatches the parchment out of Harry's hands saying, "it remains to be seen." when referring to the pair's alrightness. "I have just now confiscated a rather curious artefact from Mr. Potter. Take a look, Lupin. It's supposed to be your area of expertise, clearly it's full of Dark Magic." Snape hands Lupin the piece of parchment, holding all of the castles secrets. "I seriously doubt it, Severus. It looks to me as though it's merely a parchment, designed to insult anyone who tries to read it, I suspect it's a Zonko product." Mikayla nodded, Snape tried to take the parchment from Lupin but Lupin moved it away from him. "Nevertheless, I should investigate any hidden qualities it may possess, it is after all, as you said, my area of expertise. Children will you come with me please?" The pair follow Lupin in the darkness, he escorts them to his empty classroom, Mikayla couldn't help but feel extremely uneasy in the situation.
"Come in. I haven't the faintest idea, Harry, how this map came to be in your possession, but quite frankly, I am astounded that you didn't hand it in. Did it never occur to you that this, in the hands of Sirius Black is a map to you?" Mikayla face turned red, at the mention of her father's name and the reason Lupin believe that he'd want that map. Lupin looks almost apologetic towards Mikayla, but quickly stares sternly at Harry. Lupin advanced on the pair slowly, "Your fathers never set much store by the rules either. But Harry, he and your mother gave their lives to save yours. Gambling their sacrifice by wandering around the castle unprotected with a killer on the loose seems to me a poor way to repay them!" Lupin begins to raise his voice at Harry and Mikayla didn't like it at all. "Please Professor it was my fault, I encouraged him, by tagging along as the protection." Lupin looked at the girl astounded by what she was saying, "Now, I will not cover up for you two again. Do you hear me?" They pair both nodded, "Yes, Sir." Lupin told them to return to their dormitory and to stay there, without taking any detours as he will know. The duo began to walk out before both stopping in their tracks, to explain themselves, "Professor, just so you know, I don't think that map always works." Harry spoke, "Earlier it showed us someone in the castle. Someone we know to be dead." When Lupin questioned who it was Mikayla stepped forward slightly, "Peter Pettigrew." Lupin shook his head, "That's not possible." Mikayla nodded, "We just wanted to tell you what we saw." Mikayla spun around on her heels, Harry following her out, they said goodnight to their DADA Professor heading to Gryffindor Tower. "Well that was interesting." Mikayla chuckled before separating from Harry, heading up to her dormitory.
