Unicorn Tracking

The foursome were making their way to Hagrid's to warn him about Snape trying to steal the stone. Harry knocked on the door, "Sorry, don't wish to be rude but I'm not in a fit state to entertain today." Hagrid speaks after he opened the door to see Harry, Ron, Mikayla and Hermione. He begins to close the door and in a panic the foursome told him they knew about the Philosopher's Stone. Hagrid stepped aside and allowed the four Gryffindors into his hut. He had a cauldron on a roaring fire, which he looked into before standing in front of it blocking it from view. "We think Snape's trying to steal it." Harry tells him as they all take off their cloaks. Hagrid wasn't very pleased at this accusation and defended Snape saying if one of the teachers defending it. "Of course, there's other things protecting the stone, spells, enchantments." Hermione states due to the new information provided by Hagrid, he then goes on about how no one can get Fluffy but him and Dumbledore because they're the only ones who know how.

The cauldron behind Hagrid started to make a rattling sound, Hagrid spun around and picked out an egg that looked very familiar to Mikayla and Ron. Harry asked what it was but Ron got to explaining before Hagrid could. Hagrid told them that he won it from a stranger in the pub. The egg bursts open revealing a baby Norwegian Ridgeback dragon. "Woah." Mikayla looked a the baby dragon in awe, "oh bless him, he knows who his mummy is. Hello, Norbert." Hagrid smiled down at the dragon twiddling it's head with his two fingers. Norbert sneezed and caused Hagrid's beard to singe, he taps his beard where it burned and spotted someone outside the window.  "Who's that?" He asked the four of them turned their heads towards the window, "Malfoy" Harry spoke quickly, "And Avery?" Mikayla looked as the two Slytherin's ran away from the window, "Oh dear, you four go back to your house, you don't want to get caught out of bed." Hagrid stood up and guided the foursome out, handing them their cloaks. "Now hurry." he looked around the grounds, the foursome ran up to the school and began walking to Gryffindor tower once they reached the Entrance Hall. They spoke about the events that took place at Hagrid's before receiving an unpleasant greeting from professor McGonagall.

They were now in Professor McGonagall's classroom, Draco and Avery had smug smirks on their faces as McGonagall begins to lecture Harry, Ron, Mikayla and Hermione. "Nothing, I repeat, nothing, gives a student the right to walk about the school at night. Therefore, as punishment for your actions, 50 points will be taken.-" "Fifty!" Harry replied shocked, "Each. And to ensure it doesn't happen again.. all six of you will receive detention." she finished, Mikayla felt so ashamed in her actions, "Excuse me, Professor, perhaps I heard you wrong. I thought you said the six of us." Draco steps up to McGonagall's desk. "No, you heard me correctly, Mr. Malfoy. You see, honourable as your intentions were, you and Miss. O'Brien too were out of bed after hours. You will join your classmates in Detention." McGonagall looked quite smug as she responded. The foursome swapped mischievous smiles before being dismissed, "We are going to be the most hated people in Gryffindor ever." Mikayla moans as they make their way to their common room, "At least Malfoy and Avery got punished as well." Hermione tries the cheer them up.

The foursome's detention actually felt like a reward since everyone else in Gryffindor have been given them a rough time, even Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff were mad at them because Slytherin would've finally lost the House Championship after a seven year reign. The six students followed Filch down to Hagrid's hut, as he spoke about how Detention used to be a lot more fun, well for him anyways. Hagrid was extremely upset, Dumbledore had sent Norbert to Romania to live with his own kind and that's when it was revealed that they were serving Detention in the Forbidden Forest and Filch was pleased with the horror of their faces that we walked back to the castle with a spring in his step. .

Hagrid gives the group the goal of the evening, to find an injured unicorn. "Who can do red sparks?" Hagrid asked, Mikayla and Hermione were the only two to raise their hands. "Alright, Hermione, Ron and Avery, you three are with me, Harry, Draco you're with Mikayla." Hagrid announced, "Fine but we get Fang!" Draco demands, Hagrid warns him Fang is a coward but will go with them. "Alright, light your lamps." Hagrid order, Draco held the lamp whilst Mikayla waved her wand "Incendio" a little fire started flickering in the lamp, "Alright, we're going this way." Hagrid called, Avery, Hermione and Ron followed him closely, "Right let's go." Mikayla clapped, Harry and Malfoy walked behind her chatting as Fang cowardly followed. Mikayla lite her wand by whispering, "Lumos." so she could walk further ahead. Mikayla was brushing the branches of the trees they passed to see if she could spot any unicorn blood. She found a trail of silver liquid that resembles mercury, she waited for the boys to catch up, "Look! There's a trail." She whispered to the boys pointing to the silver liquid. "Why are we whispering?" Harry whispered back, "it might be close by and we don't want to spook it." Mikayla whispered in response. She walked ahead of the boys again following the trial into a opening where the unicorn laid. A black cloak covered someone who looked as though they were drinking the blood, "Periculum." Mikayla raised her wand up pointing to the sky, red sparks bursted over the trees. Harry slaps his hand against his forehead in pain as Draco screams and runs away. Mikayla stood in front of Harry ready to fight. "SPINCULA." She shouts pointing her wand at the faceless figure as it glides up to them, arrows shoot out of her wand at the cloaked thing but that just caused it to pause momentarily. Harry fell backwards to the ground pulling Mikayla with him, the two of them sunk into roots of trees protruding off the bank of the opening. The hooded figure continued to advance on them. "Protego Horriblilis." Mikayla voice shook as she protected herself and Harry from becoming victims of dark magic. The sound of galloping filled their ears, within seconds the sound came into view. It was a centaur, the centaur rose on it's two hind legs, scaring the hooded figure making it retreat into the darkness. Harry and Mikayla slowly stood up, "Thank you for saving us." Mikayla spoke kindly to the centaur. The centaur begins to warn Harry about the forest not being safe for him and how terrible it is for someone to slay a unicorn. Together Harry and the centaur start piecing together that the figure they had encountered was Voldemort and that he's after the Philosopher's Stone. "Hello there Firenze. I see that you've met our young Mr. Potter and Miss O'Brien. Alright right there you two?" Hagrid's voice gave Mikayla a new sense of security. He stood there towering over Ron, Hermione, Draco and Avery. Firenze said his farewells, before disappearing into the forest.

Mikayla and Hermione walked together and spoke about what happened in the opening leaving out all the information she could about Voldemort and Nicolas Flamel because Avery and Draco were slightly in front of them. "We were already making our way over to your red sparks when we met Draco and Fang. Draco told us that you and Harry were in trouble." Hermione explained, Mikayla smiled. "Mikayla was brilliant, Hagrid. She did loads of different spells that I've never heard of before." Harry tells Hagrid once they reach the edge of the forest. Ron shook Mikayla's shoulder as did Hagrid but he was a little more rough, "it was only three spells." She told him, Harry described the spells Mikayla did, Hermione was very impressed as she is the only one of them who knew what the spells were other than Mikayla.
