This Is The Night

The four pairs lined up behind the Great Hall doors, Fleur and Roger Davis were up front, Viktor and Hermione behind them, Mikayla and Cedric behind but in front of Harry and Parvati. The boys stood on right of the girls, dates linked arms just before the Great Hall doors swung open and trumpets began playing. Once again whispers followed them, making Mikayla blush wildly. Mikayla looked around at the Halls decorations, the Hall was unrecognisable, a winter team with lots of silver. The music began playing for the waltz, Mikayla and Cedric glided along with the music, after one in air spin, Dumbledore and McGonagall joined in and soon after the floor was filled with waltzers. "You can sing and dance, what other talents are you hiding from me?" Mikayla raised an eyebrow at Cedric as he laughs, "I'll have to show you later." Cedric winks, making Mikayla smile. The music stops after 20 minutes, Flitwick rushes over to the mic. "And now a special 8 song performance from the Elite choir." Everyone in the choir quickly rushed to their positions, "The Weird Sister will be here in 15 minutes, we just need you guys to fill time." The group nod at the Professor, they all share a smile before the music begins to play. {Cedric- Jake, Mikayla-Marley, Draco- Ryder, Ginny- Brittany, Roger- Sam, Avery- Kitty, Brian- Blaine, Cho- Tina, Fay- Unique, Marcus - Artie, Pansy- Sugar, Wayne- Joe}

"We'll take over from here, pretty little lady." Myron Wagtail, lead singer of Weird Sisters, smiles at Mikayla. She smiles nodding at him, completely speechless before spinning around grabbing Cedric's hand and making their way off stage. "You guys were amazing." Hermione beamed at Mikayla and Cedric, the two couples decided to dance together for a bit, mainly because how closed the girls were. They jumped around to the rock of the Weird Sister, screaming the lyrics together. "Let's go get a drink." Mikayla whispered in Cedric's ear, he nods grabbing her hand before they excuse themselves. They walked laughing and smiling at one another, Mikayla spots very annoyed looking Patil twins sitting beside Harry and Ron, by the looks of it they hadn't been dancing at all. "I'll get the drinks, talk to your friends." Cedric nods at Harry and Ron with their dates. "I vill come vith you, Cedric." Krum speaks from behind the pair, Mikayla kisses Cedric's cheek before linking arms with Hermione smiling at one another before making their way up to the boys.

Ron glared at them, "Hot, isn't it?" Hermione breathed, sitting down next to Harry whilst Mikayla stayed standing, having a feeling this isn't going to go well. "Cedric and Viktor's gone to go get drinks. Would you care to join us?" Mikayla asked them politely, her smile still the most prominent feature on her face. Ron crossed his arms, "No, we'd not care to join you two, Cedric and Viktor." He glared at Hermione and slouched in his seat more, if that were possible. Hermione tried to remain happy and not let his foul mood get to her. "What's got your wand in a knot?" She asked, clearly less happy now. "He's a Durmstrang, and as for Cedric, he had everyone wearing those badges. You two are fraternising with the enemy." Mikayla took a shaky breath, trying to keep herself calm. Ron looked around to make sure the boys weren't in range to hear him. "The enemy?" Hermione questioned, appalled. "Who was it wanting his autograph? Besides the whole point of the tournament is international magical cooperation... to make friends." Her voice cracked subtly. "Huh. I think he's got a bit more than friendship on his mind." Ron retorted, sitting back in his seat and refusing to look at Hermione anymore. "As for Cedric, he had nothing to do with those badges. And if you have a problem with who I'm dating, once again, then just say it." Mikayla was tapping her foot waiting for Ron to answer her, "You couldn't have dated anyone but him? The guy Harry has to compete against from Hogwarts. Did you even ask Harry how he felt about the situation?" Mikayla looked at Ron in disbelief, "She did check with Harry first." Hermione huffed, "She did, before she said yes to being his girlfriend. She came to me and made sure I was ok with it. Even though she didn't have to, she did to make sure everyone around her was happy before she was." Harry speaks quietly, defending Mikayla slightly. "How come I wasn't around for that conversation?" Ron asked, Mikayla took another shaky breath, "Because you knew me as the Gryffindor Whore during that period of time." Hermione stood up, both of the girls walked away not angry but in disbelief of their conversation.

Cedric and Viktor joined them again laughing, "How'd it go?" Cedric whispered as Hermione and Krum walked over to an empty table, "The usual, Ron's jealousy is making him act like a prat." Cedric sent Mikayla a sorrowful look, she just shrugged before taking a sip of the punch. Cedric sat down on a empty chair, gesturing Mikayla to sit on his legs, she does as asked. They shared a kiss, gentle and sweet, once it was broken, they just stared into each other's eyes. "Sorry to interrupt whatever you two are at but can the four of us get a picture together?" Avery asks, gesturing to herself, Draco, Mikayla and Cedric. They happily agree, making their way over to the wall where a photographer was taking pictures. They took two serious ones and two really goofy ones, keeping one of each, each. "Let's Dance!" Avery yells when the twins favourite Weird Sisters song starts, 'This Is The Night'. They dragged the boys onto the dance floor just in time to yell the chorus, "So take your hands off me. Tonight I'm breaking free. This is the night. This is the night." Avery yells before pointing at Mikayla, "So take your hands off me. Tonight I'm breaking free. This is the night! This is the night!" Mikayla points at Cedric to sing the second verse, "There was a time, I would have walked on burning coals for you. Sailed across the ocean blue. Climbed the highest mountain. Just to call your name." They all pointed at Draco to continue on as they danced madly, "The moon throws down its light. And cuts me to the quick tonight. The change is in the air. And nothing will ever be the same. You still look good to me. Oh but you're no good for meeeh!" Everyone cheered happily at Draco joining in, they dance until there was very few people left on the dance floor. Deciding to make a getaway, Cedric leads Mikayla up to the Prefect's bathroom on the Fifth floor. "Pine Fresh" the door opens.
