Out of The Shadows (Golden Trio Era) {1}

Day One, Year Three

When the foursome entered the Great Hall for breakfast the next day, the first thing they saw was Draco Malfoy entertaining his knucklehead friends and Avery. Pansy shouted at them joking about Harry fainting and Mikayla's almost panic attack. Mikayla walked over to the table of Slytherins, calm and collected as she hugged her sister 'Good Morning', her friends watched her from the Gryffindor table. Mikayla stuck out her hand to Malfoy, "If you're going to date my twin, we should probably be civil to one another." Draco looked at her confused, when he shook her hand he seemed very uncomfortable. She turned towards Pansy, putting her face right up in the Slytherin girl's face. "As for you Puggy, talk about me or my friends again and I'll introduce you to the Scalping Hex." She spat at the pug looking girl who shrunk in her seat as Pike and Blaise laugh at the nickname Mikayla has given her. "So hold your tongue before I make you." Mikayla stood up straight, she straightened up her uniform before taking a seat between Harry and George. "I've got your timetable, you're going to be very busy." He says widen eyes on the blonde's timetable before handing it to her. "Don't let them bother you, Mikayla." George smiled before telling the foursome how Malfoy almost wet himself and ran into their compartment. They also told them how horrible the dementors were, Fred describes it as they freeze your insides. "You didn't pass out, though, did you?" Harry asked the rhetorical question with a low voice. George tried comfort the dark haired boy telling them about Arthur visiting Azkaban.

Mikayla tunes out of the conversation happening between her friends, as she catches the eyes of a Gryffindor a year older than her. She recognised him as Cormac McLaggen, he has definitely gotten hotter over the summer, he winked at her causing her to smile and look down blushing insanely. She looked back at the boy who had a grin plastered on his face, she felt more eyes on her before she got nudged by Harry. "Humm? Sorry what?" She brought herself to the group she was sitting with, "I was just wondering when we'd start our mini homework club but clearly staring at McLaggen is more important to you." Ron rolled his eyes, Mikayla went red in response. "I was thinking Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays?" She responded extremely embarrassed about the whole situation. Fred has a saddened look on his face, Hermione gave her a smirk, "I think you should go for it." Her eyes flickered back over Cormac McLaggen, Mikayla shrugged her shoulders, "I doubt he even likes me." Mikayla took a bite of her pancake, "He'd be crazy not to." Avery's voiced caused Mikayla to jump a little, she knew what Avery was playing at and Mikayla got the sinking feeling Avery's idea might just plan out the way she wanted it to.

Mikayla, Hermione, Ron and Harry sat in the Divination classroom, where Professor Trelawney who welcomed the third years to her subject, she then went on how difficult it will be for them to learn the subject as books could only take them a certain distance. Trelawney reminded Mikayla of a bat, mainly because she was probably as blind as one, she wore massive magnified glasses, her hairy was bushy and she looked like she never sees the sun. "This term, we'll be focus on Tasseomancy, which is the art of reading tea leaves. So please, take the cup of the person sitting opposite you. What do you see?" Mikayla took Hermione's cup looking at Mikayla saw something that looked like a fist, "You!" Mikayla jumped and saw Professor Trelawney pointing at her, "Is your mother ill?" Mikayla shook her head no as the rest of the class began whispering, Harry, Ron and Hermione kept an eye on Mikayla making sure she was ok, "Are you sure?" Trelawney asked, Mikayla nodded, "How are you so sure?" Trelawney asked getting closer to Mikayla, who was close to tears, "Because she's dead." Mikayla spoke clearly, you could hear the sadness in her voice. Trelawney froze, she looked at Mikayla horrified at the news, "I'm so sorry dear." Trelawney stepped away from Mikayla, before turning to Ron asking him what did he see in Harry's cup, Hermione grabbed placed her hand on Mikayla's shoulder and Mikayla took in a sharp breath causing her to slip from reality.

*They were all outside Mikayla was talking to Hagrid and Harry about how great the lesson was, she saw Malfoy advance on a animal she didn't recognise. He insulted the creature that then rared on it's hind legs and slashed the boys face and arm. Malfoy hits the ground crying in pain. "He needs to be taken to the hospital!" She saw Hermione yell at Hagrid. Before everything went black*

Hermione gave her a weird look as her mind returned to the room, Mikayla shook the scene from her head before packing up her stuff with the rest of the class.

The foursome began making their way down to Hagrid's hut, "You don't think that Grim thing's got anything to do with Sirius Black, do you?" Ron asks the group, Hermione rolled her eyes at the question saying Divination was a bit of a woolly subject her view, before telling them Ancient Runes was a fascinating subject. This caused Ron to question how she and Mikayla could possibly attended both Divinations and Ancient Runes considering they are on at the same time. "Don't be silly, Ron. How could anyone be in two classes at once?" Mikayla asked her friend who quickly shut up at the question. Hermione repeated what Trelawney said about the inner eye and broadening their minds as she attempted to suppress a giggle. They arrived at Hagrid's hut as he egged students to get closer to him, ensuring everyone heard him. "I've got a real treat for you today, a great lesson. So follow me." Hagrid clapped before making his way into the Forest beside his hut, the foursome followed him instantly, this is because they trust Hagrid will keep them safe in the forest. The class reached a clearing about 10 trees deep into the forest, they stepped over a broken stone wall before Hagrid came to a halt. "Right, you lot. Less chattering. Form a group over there." Hagrid pointed to a large rock, the students followed the instruction, "And open your books to page 49!" Draco asked him how they were going to open the books when they've tried to bite their arms off. Hagrid told them to stroke the spine Mikayla did so and the book relaxed, so she took the belt off it.
