Avery's B-day Party

Once Kreature left, Mikayla made her way into the living room and sat on the couch, waiting for guests to start arriving, "How many people did you invite?" Mikayla questioned remembering how much food that was made, "The Elites, four quidditch teams, your close friends and our whole year." Mikayla's eyes widen, this party is going to be huge. Mikayla excuses herself making her way to her room, she sits on the ground leaning against the cold wall. Mikayla hasn't been around that much people in over a month, her heart is racing and she's worried what people will question her about. She shakily plays with her necklace that Cedric bought her, takes a few deep breaths to keep track of her breathing. She slowly stumbles up, grabbing the gift she got Avery, straightens herself out in the mirror before returning to the living room. She handed Avery the gift and sat back down on the coach, staring into space. Mikayla jumped slightly at the doorbell, "I'll get it." Avery stands up and walks out of the room, "What's going on with you, Black?" Draco questioned referring to the jumpiness and her off behaviour. "I haven't been in a crowd that big since, um, Cedric's funeral. I just don't want to be asked a billion questions." Mikayla spoke truthfully about her anxiousness of what the night entails, "Don't worry, Avery will fight anyone who makes you upset." Draco smiles at Mikayla, a genuine smile, not a snarky one or a sarcastic one, a genuine smile, which Mikayla returned. "You better be careful tonight then Draco." Mikayla got up and went to see what was taking her sister so long.

Mikayla saw tons of people outside waiting to come in, Avery was asking for invitations to be let in. Mikayla walked up to her sister, "I'll sort this out, you go give Malfoy company." Avery thanked her sister. "Ok everyone, two people at a time!" First two people to approach the door was Pansy and Blaise, Mikayla stepped aside letting them in, next up was Neville and Hannah, Mikayla greeted them kindly stepping aside, next walked up Alicia and Katie, Mikayla smiled letting the girls in. She continued to do this until everyone but 5 third years, and 8 second years tired to sneak in. Mikayla also allowed Luna Lovegood into the party, she knew she wasn't in their year but she thought Ginny would've liked to have someone her age there. She was sure that Avery wouldn't notice one extra person at her massive birthday party. Mikayla spotted Avery rushing into the kitchen, she followed her inside, "What are you doing?" Mikayla questioned, "Crabbe and Goyle want some snacks food." Mikayla stopped Avery's search of the pantry, "I'll sort it out, you go enjoy your party." Avery hugged Mikayla thanking her before rejoining the party. Mikayla took out 5 plastic mixing bowls, filling one with jelly's, one with biscuits, one with chocolate frogs, one with Cauldron cakes and the last with Every Flavour Beans. She brought the bowls of cauldron cakes and biscuits to the coffee table were Crabbe and Goyle sat, letting them eat those. She put the other three on the dinning table that was pushed up against the wall with a lot of drinks on top of it. Mikayla surveyed the drinks realising that most of them were alcoholic, she knew that Fergal would have no problem of giving underage teens alcohol but there was so much, it was like he was encouraging them to drink.

"Hey!" Mikayla jumped slightly spinning around to see a merry Anthony Rickett. "Hello Anthony, enjoying the party?" Anthony nodded wrapping his arm around Mikayla's shoulders, Mikayla moved uncomfortably. "We should get to know each other better." Anthony's breath reeked of Fire-whiskey. "Not tonight, I have to help Avery." Mikayla smiled rushing away towards the other side of the room, heading for the garden doors. Just before she escapes, Draco Malfoy blocks the door, "It's your turn in Karaoke, Avery's picked out a song for you to do." Mikayla looked at him weirdly before seeing Avery wave her over, Mikayla walked up to Avery at the Karaoke machine. Avery called the attention of the whole party to her, Mikayla's face dropped at this action, praying she had just imagined it. "I wanted to thank you all for joining me in celebrating my 15th birthday. But as a surprise for Mikayla, I contacted Professor Flitwick, got my hands on her song books and added them to the karaoke machine. So, I'd like to introduce my step sis Mikayla Black and a mashup of her best songs and some famous songs. I'd also like to invite Fredrick Weasley to help her out a little bit." Mikayla's eyes widen at Avery's introduction, especially considering neither her or Fred knew what songs were mashed up together. They sit to face each other with a karaoke screen behind each of them so they can follow the songs.
