Avery's Truth

Mikayla sticks out her tongue, blowing a raspberry towards Avery. "I never lose Av." Avery rolls her eyes in response before her face stiffens. "I was actually hoping to talk to you alone for a few minutes." Avery whispered, Mikayla nodded. "We'll be there in a few minutes, I'm going to give Avery a tour of the garden." Mikayla told Ginny who nodded catching up with Ron and the twins. "What's up?" Mikayla questioned as the girls walked around the garden. "I have something I need to tell you, but I need you to promise me you won't tell anyone and you won't judge me for it." Mikayla promised her sister what was asked of her. "I broke up with Draco." Mikayla looked at her confused, she knew how much Avery liked Draco. "Really? How come? He didn't hurt you did he?" Mikayla asked rambling, Avery shook her head, she stopped on the edge of the pond, staring at her reflection. "Kay, I-I'm gay." Mikayla was stunned by this information, her jaw slightly dropping, "Ok, so, when did you realise that you were?" Mikayla questioned, "two weeks ago, I finally excepted that I'm more attracted to girls than boys." Mikayla could tell Avery was hurting a lot from this new discovery of her sexuality. She pulled her sister into a hug, "I Love You Av. And I've got your back no matter what." Avery was taken aback about Mikayla's words, "You're ok with this?" Avery asked harshly, Mikayla calmly nodded, "If being gay is apart of who you are, I'm ok with it. This doesn't change anything between us, if you're happy, I'm happy." Avery began to cry, clearly expecting a different outcome of the sisters conversation.

"Thank you Kay for everything." Mikayla was now the one looking confused, "I couldn't live with myself if you hated me." Mikayla wipes the tears off Avery's face, "I could never hate you sis." Mikayla smiles, "Have you told anyone else?" Avery shook her head no, "I wanted to tell you first. Because you'd be the hardest person for me to lose, and if I told you and you didn't accept it, I would've just stayed hidden in the closet." Avery admits, Mikayla couldn't help but feel proud of her relationship with Avery. "Well if you ever need support with telling others, I'll be there. And if you're not ready to tell anyone else for a while, I'll keep your secret." The sisters share one more hug before returning to the house for Lunch. "By the way, when it comes to food in the burrow, you've got to be quick."

When Mikayla and Avery walked in, the smell of their favourite Mexican Food fills their nostrils, Chicken Fajitas. Mikayla had told Mrs Weasley once that they're her and Avery's favourite food when they're feeling sad. Avery beams at the food selection, before Mikayla noticed that the two last chairs were separated, one free between Ron and Fred, the other between George and Ginny. Avery sits next to Fred and Ron, whilst Mikayla makes her way over to George and Ginny. "This looks amazing Mrs Weasley." Avery spoke happily finally taking her eyes off the food, Mikayla nods vigorously in agreement. "Never mind looking at it girls. Everyone tuck in." Everyone began piling up their plates with food, Mikayla making sure to get extra once she spotted Avery's shock. The bowls in the middle of the table were almost sparkling as food pyramids gathered on everyone's plates, other than Avery's whose plate was bare. Mikayla laughed lightly and began scooping half of her food onto Avery's empty plate, "I told you that you'd have to be quick." Avery nodded acknowledging the truth, "I'll be ready for dinner." Everyone laughed at the girls exchange. They all ate their fajitas, talking and joking about nonsense.

Mr Weasley pulled Mikayla and Avery aside after lunch whilst everyone else retired to the living room. "I was talking to Madam Malkin the other day when I went to Diagon Alley, she's looking for young girls to model her dress robes and possibly get a video of a musical performance. So, I offered you two to do it. You're both young, beautiful and talented, among other things." Mrs Weasley announced, Mikayla and Avery stared at each other in disbelief. "When does she want us for?" Avery questioned, "Tomorrow morning, Arthur will drop you off before work and then you can wander around for a little while or floo start back here if you want." The girls nod excitedly. They didn't even care if they were going to get paid, they get to play dress up and sing. "Did she pick a song or are we to pick one?" Mrs Weasley handed the girls a letter written by Madam Malkin.

'Dear girls,
I can't wait to work with you. We'll be beginning the shoot at 12pm but I wish for you're arrival at 9:30, to get hair and makeup done as well as get into the robes you'll be modelling.
I heard through the grapevine that you both write music and was hoping you'd write a song for the shoot. I want the message of the song that you can be whatever you want to be as long as you're brave enough to dare go after it.
I want this shoot to empower people to try something new but also be themselves. You two will be the main models, the others will be following your actions but you two are the stars of this show.
I also want you two to direct the video of the performance, allowing this whole piece to be personal to you. But also, to give me some power if I come up with some notes or ideas.

"Is it ok if we go straight upstairs to write the song? And for someone to call us for dinner because song writing is a long process." Mikayla explained and questioned. "Yeah, give me a shout if you need or want anything." The girls nodded before running up the stairs. "I think you should start us off Av." Mikayla stayed as she pulled out her keyboard, cajon and guitar, "Let's figure out the melody first." Mikayla runs down the stairs and grabs Ginny for help with the guitar playing. Avery begins with the keyboard alone for an eight count, then Mikayla joins in with the cajon. Then after 6 eight counts that would make up the verse, Ginny joins in with the Guitar for the Chorus. The music would be constantly building up as they furthered the song. "Thanks Gin."
