A collection of random content from yours truly centered around the fantastic Books of Beginning trilogy by John Stephens. (The Emerald Atlas, The Fire Chronicle, and The Black Reckoning). This series is amazing, underrated, and has my heart.

Here is some fanart I want to share with you. It's not colored and finished yet, only sketched, but who knows when I'll have time to color so I want to share this with you now. Captions and explaining each piece is under each sketch.

Here is a hand drawn Dance of Magic cover featuring Kate Wibberly surrounded by magic.

A poster for the series overall with Michael, Kate, and Emma, with Kate's locket in the center. (The eyes are going to be green to represent the eyes of Rafe and every other Dire Magnus) all in all not my best work to be honest.

A sketch of Kate that turned out pretty good. (If you can't tell, I draw Kate a lot)

A concept piece based on a very interesting quote, which you see in the background. The central figure is Kate, obviously, the shadowy hands represent destiny, and you can guess who the eyes represent.

The above image is a concept sketch of Kate Wibberly and Rafe/The Dire Magnus, meant to represent light and darkness. That will be more evident when it's colored and finished. But I think the drawings themselves are rather good.

This sketch is of Rafe, as the Dire Magnus, using his magical power and creating flames of evil. The nine faces around him represent the spirits of the nine Dire Magni that came before. The skull like one at the top represents the first Dire Magnus. I'm going to be honest - I'm really proud of this one.

Here we have Kate and Rafe on a rooftop in old NYC. I put a lot of details into this drawing, and I think it turned out nicely.

Here's Kate and Rafe dancing in the snow in New York. The only thing I changed was adding the flames around their feet to represent all the fire and darkness ahead for them. Fun Fact: It took me forever and many revisions to get the placement of their arms right. But it was worth it because I love this drawing. And not just because it's one of my favorite scenes, but because the drawing itself looks nice, if I do say so myself.
I hope you liked my sketches. I promise I will definitely share the finished (and probably better looking) results as soon as I get these all colored.
