A/N: Two separate lists. Exactly what it says on the tin.

A-Z Fluff Headcanons

A = affection (how affectionate are they in day to day life? Do they show affection publicly or keep that more in private?)

Rafe and Kate are very affectionate with each other, more so in private (or anywhere that Michael and Emma are not present and pretending to be scandalized by the sight of their parental figure kissing someone). That said, they are always holding hands and walking side by side in public.

B = best memory (what is the best memory they have with each other)

For Rafe, the best memory that he has with Kate is a tie between eating noodles with her when the two of them were carefree for once, or, later in their lives, the births of their children. For Kate, it's dancing in the snow together, and the first time they held Lili, Jake, and Abby in their arms.

C = cat or dog person (this is pretty obvious)

They both like both, Kate's more of a cat person, and Rafe likes black cats and large dogs specifically.

D = dreams (what do they want to do in life?)

Kate wants to help people, specifically children like herself who grow up in bad circumstances. She plans to go to college to study psychology and become some sort of social worker in the magical world, which lacks those sort of services due to their disjointed government. Rafe has had different dreams, from playing violin professionally to taking down those who harm children in the magical world. Both want to get married and have a family of their own.

E = evenings (how do they spend their evening? Do they go out? Do they read?)

Kate and Rafe prefer to spend their evenings in, usually either reading or watching movies, but sometimes dancing and listening to music. They'll also cook together sometimes.

F = first date (what was it like?)

Their first date was of course eating noodles in 1899, but for their official first date after the war, Kate and Rafe went out dancing.

G = giggle (what is their laugh like? What makes them laugh?)

Rafe has a very mirthful, hearty laugh, and some of the things that make him laugh are sarcasm, Abigail's stories about Jake and Beetles, and the time Emma slipped and fell right in front of him, and took Michael down too. Kate, on the other hand, has a lighter laugh, that doesn't come out often, but the things that make her laugh are her siblings' antics, Wilamena's elaborate fashion sense, and Rafe's dry humor.

H = hugs (do they like hugs? What kind of hugs do they give?)

Kate likes hugs so long as they're either consented to or she's being hugged by someone she's close to. Kate's hugs are the best; they're warm and comforting and like coming home. Rafe isn't a big hugger except when it comes to Kate and children that he cares for. His hugs make people feel protected and safe (unless he's pickpocketing them in the process, which he has done to certain people at times).

I = instrument (do they play an instrument?)

Rafe, of course, plays the violin. Kate does not play an instrument, but she is a big dancer and music enthusiast.

J = joy (what brings them joy in life?)

Kate finds joy in seeing the children she cares for safe, happy, and successful, and Rafe is the same. They also find joy in simple pleasures, like sleeping in all morning, or warm showers, luxuries that they have not been afforded for most of their lives. And of course, they bring each other joy.
