Hi everyone! It's shameless self-promotion time. I know that I already have a sh*t-ton of stories going on, but I also have an utter lack of impulse control and a million ideas in my head, which is why you all are getting a brand new Books Of Beginning fanfic. It's called Waiting For Sunrise and it's going to be a large and incredibly interesting project to undertake, so naturally I had to do it. And I'm really excited.
The story is an AU, it's set in 1899, and it explores an alternative version of TBOB where the Wibberly Siblings were born in the late 1800s and find themselves among the Savages. I actually outlined some ideas for it here in Life, Death, and Time, under the chapter 'Savages AU' but I decided the concept was fascinating and deserved to be turned into a full story. There's going to be a lot of interesting material in the book, including more in depth looks at the Savages, a lot of Kate x Rafe, a good helping of adventure, and found family, a beloved trope for a good reason. I'm both nervous and thrilled, because the search for the books and the fight against the Dire Magnus is going to happen so differently in this story, I'm taking ideas we know and completely reworking them. That's a daunting task for a writer, but also a fun one that I hope to do well.
