"Can I honk the horn?" Eternity asked, eyeing the steering wheel of the car with a mischievous expression.

"No," Lili said, rolling her eyes.

"But they're taking forever!" Eternity complained.

"It's been five minutes, calm down."

Eternity fiddled with the fraying edge of her jean shorts. She did not reach over and press the horn, even though she was tempted to - she would not stoop to the levels reserved for Emma and Dena. Fortunately, her patience was not tried for much longer, because within the minute, three teenagers came streaming out of the house and raced for the curb, before throwing open the door and piling into the back of Kate's car, which Lili had borrowed to pick up her brother and sister from the library, as well as acquiring a family friend to come over.

"Seatbelts," Lili warned them, shooting one of her death-stares into the rear view mirror. Jake giggled wildly but clipped himself in, with Abby in the middle of the backseat doing the same. Already buckled up was the brunette on the other side of Abby, a newly sixteen year old by the name of Mackenzie, who had been friends with the Wibberlys for a handful of years now, and who had been dating Abby for almost two months.

"Hey Lili," Mackenzie said with a wry grin, leaning on her girlfriend's arm so that she could look at the two girls in the front seat, "how's it going?"

"Fine. How's your life?"

"Pretty great," Mackenzie answered, popping the p in 'pretty'. Her eyes sparkled with merriment and mischief as she turned her gaze to the pink haired young woman in the passenger seat. Eternity's feet were propped on the dash, her long legs exposed, and she wore a pale pink crop top that left her midriff exposed and her arms free to showcase the myriad of bracelets she had thrown on. "You look hot as hell, Eternity."

Lili and Abby let out matching squawks of indignation, while Jake began to laugh his ass off. Eternity only shot the girl a wink, "sorry Kenz, I know I'm gorgeous, but I'm too old for you."

"You're also taken," Lili scolded.

"So's Kenzie," Abby added, punching her girlfriend lightly in the shoulder. Despite the glare of those hazel eyes on her, Mackenzie looked entirely unrepentant.

Lili turned to shoot Kenzie a glare, even as she switched the car out of park, "that's true. Don't break my sister's heart, Kenzie."

"Never," Kenzie promised, her smile becoming something genuine.

Lili nodded, before her tone became somewhat joking, "and if you flirt with my fiancé again, well... let's just say dad's taught me a few tricks that mean I can get away with murder if I want to."

Jake snorted, "someone's possessive today."

Lili shrugged, turning back to the wheel and pulling the car away, "what can I say? I'm a jealous lover."

Eternity rolled her eyes, "yeah, mi amor. I know. Now, are you gonna talk or are you gonna drive?"

"She kinda has to," Mackenzie quipped, "she's the only one here who can."

"I can drive!" Eternity protested.

"Not well," Abby and Jake said in unison, causing Mackenzie to burst into laughter.
