Kate x Rafe Playlist

I decided to create a playlist of songs for my favorite couple. The songs are in bold, and the explanations for why this song suits the ship are underneath. Comment if you know the song or if you have thoughts. I may have no musical talent, but I appreciate it very much, and I would love to share my taste and opinions on it with my fellow shippers.

Demons - Imagine Dragons 

I think this is pretty obvious. It's the Kate and Rafe song in my mind. The perspective is very similar to Rafe's despair about the darkness in his life and how he wants to protect Kate from it. Also; the lines "I cant escape this now, unless you show me how!" remind me so much of the way Kate 'saved' Rafe from the Dire Magnus in the black reckoning.

A Thousand Years - Christina Perri 

This one fits with both the time travel in their history as well as how long they waited for each other. It also represents Kate and the inner strength she has to summon in every catastrophe well.

Daylight - Maroon 5

If this isn't the song for Rafe's point of view at the end of the Black Reckoning when he and Kate were at the cavern and he has to leave her and die to save the world, I don't know what is.

Hold My Hand - The Fray

This has a lot of redemption and saving references, perfect for Rafe, who was saved by Kate. There's also a line including 'my face a hundred years ago' that seems perfect for a boy from the past.

Something I Need - One Republic

This song touches a lot on love that you'd die for and love that you live for. And while Kate and Rafe have both sacrificed themselves for each other, they also inspire each other to live, do that fits them nicely. 

War Of Hearts - Ruelle

This song is perfect for a pair of lovers that can't be together for various reasons but can't stop loving each other either. I think it especially fits some of Kate's feelings about their romance.

Bleeding Out - Imagine Dragons 

This fits again with the sacrifice theme, particularly when Rafe dies for Kate at the end of the series.

Somewhere Only We Know - Keane

This song has a lot of talk about 'the end of everything' and going some place to escape and be in love. That fits with them at the cabin at the end of the third book and also just how much they must have wanted peace together overall.

I Bet My Life - Imagine Dragons 

This is an asking for forgiveness song, perfect for Rafe to Kate after all the bad things he did.

A Million Dreams - The Greatest Showman

Ok gonna be honest, this is just a cute love song from a movie I like, so naturally it makes me think of the best couple. This one is just being in love with someone and dreaming of all you could do together and I just like that a lot for Rafe and Kate.

Dark Side - Kelly Clarkson 

'Can you love me, even with my dark side?' I mean, is any other explanation needed?

Impossible - James Arthur

This one is about love falling apart and broken hearts. Doomed and impossible romance definitely is Kate and Rafe. But anyways, this song reminds me of how Kate must have felt when she came back to life and found Rafe as the Dire Magnus wreaking havoc.
