- Kate, Michael, and Emma are normal village children with scholarly parents, at least, until their parents are taken prisoner by the enemy army of monsters invading the kingdom.

- The Wibberly siblings are now on a quest to save their parents by warning the king and his council about the monster army and begging him to defeat the army and free the prisoners.

- While leaving their village, they run into a member of the council, who is also on his way to warn the king about the army: court magician, Stanislaus Pym.

- Pym takes the children under his wing and they end up traveling with him and the kight assigned to protect him, the brave Sir Gabriel.

- They begin traveling across the vast kingdom of Cambridge Falls, and their travels introduce them to some very interesting characters.

- Wilamena is still an elf trapped as a dragon. She is the princess of the neighboring elf kingdom and befriends the siblings. It takes them a while to figure out she's actually an elf, but when they do, Michael vows to find a way to free her of the curse she's under (it's all very noble until Emma starts laughing)

- Wilamena declares when she is back to normal she will make Michael the noble sir rabbit of the elf court. Emma starts laughing even harder then. Michael is embarrassed but growing to like the elf princess' enthusiasm and courage in the face of her curse.

- Other friends they make include Abigail, Jake, and Beetles, local magicians who we surprisingly competent (Abigail makes up most of said competence) who are organizing the citizens to stand up to the army of monsters until the king's forces arrive.

- They also help the Wibberlys pull off a daring escape through a secret passage. Well, technically it was the ghost they summoned, witch Henrietta Burke, who led the siblings out of harm and back to Pym, Gabriel, and Wilamena.

- The Kingdom of Cambridge Falls is run by dwarfish king Robbie McLaur.

- His council consists of Lord Hugo Algernon, Lady Magda Von Klappen, Master Chu, Lord Haarald, Lord Wallace, Lord, Abraham, Lady Sallow, and Stanislaus Pym. Sir Gabriel is the head of his military. Hamish is the court jester.

- In the King's dungeons are an assassin called the Countess, and her bumbling assistant, the Secretary, who were arrested for conspiracy to assassinate the king. They know about the invading army but have not given that secret away yet. They hope to break free in the chaos.

- Said invading army is led by The Dire Magnus, a name given to a series of magical warlords hellbent on conquest. The reason why they have been so powerful is because many years ago, one of them stole three powerful spellbooks. The atlas, chronicle, and reckoning.

- The current Dire Magnus is actually a boy, not much older than Kate, who used to be a thief until the warlord mantle was unwillingly thrust upon him. His name, of course, is Rafe.

- Rourke is the second in command of the monster army and has been for years. He has built himself quite a terrible reputation.

- Unexpectedly, on their quest, the Wibberly siblings come under attack. Pym and Gabriel try to help them, but the siblings refuse, telling them they need to warn the king. Reluctantly, Pym and Gabriel rush to the castle to do so.

- Wilamena also has someone to warn: Her father, King Bernard of the elf kingdom, whose lands are also under attack. Fortunately, being a dragon has its benefits, and she can fly to help him.

- Meanwhile, Kate, Michael, and Emma escape the danger of Rourke, and manage to sneak into the Dire Magnus's encampment: it's there that they find and steal the three powerful spellbooks.

- It's then that they realize their adventures had only just begun.

Random AU Notes

- After meeting Gabriel, Emma wants to become a knight and defend the kingdom too.

- With intense research, Michael does find a way to lift Wilamena's curse, and yes, he is declared her sir rabbit. It is said that Emma's laughter on that day could  be heard in the distant seas, many miles away.

- Rafe is eventually freed from the title of Dire Magnus by none other than Kate Wibberly, who defeats the magic making the warlock so powerful with her wits and bravery.

- Naturally Rafe falls head over heals for her. He's Rafe, of course he does.

- Many years after their adventures were through, the Wibberly siblings allowed a young scribe to write their tale down so it could be shared through the years. The scribe, John Stephens, does this masterfully.

A/N: So, I apparently wrote this AU down on paper months ago but never shared it with you all which was not ok, so I'm sharing it now.
