♡Salem POV♡

Every inch of me is trembling and it's not the good orgasmic type no this is me seething with anger but not being able to express myself because I need to play the long game. Siegfried has been silent without saying a word it's like he's analysing me from top to bottom and quiet frankly it's werid, does he expect me to speak up?

"Do you mind not starting at my exposed nipples? I'm married and it's making me uncomfortable in your presence." I speak up trying to add some humour in this tense time, Siegfried seems amused tilting his head and I swear his eyes lingered at my nipples.

"Ah Salem DeVil Winters it's a pleasure to finally meet the man who won the devil's heart. I didn't truly believe Lucifer had the capacity to love being he never had it in the first place." Wonder who's fault that is. "But then again I did steal his mother so I can't blame him yet I must admit you did a rather good job taming such a wild beast. Must've been hard or maybe you knew something others didn't."

"Or maybe I saw what most people tend to overlook. People are blindsided when they hear Lucifer Morningstar, his name equates to evil but that's not the man I loved. He and I had our troubles but like most couples we learn from it plus I punished him enough for his wrong doings."

"They told me you were are a smart man...but clearly those were false truths told to me because here before me I see a fool." Keep it together Salem. "If you knew of the atrocities committed by your husband you'd second yourself and question your loyalty."

"I know about Lucifer and his past he's mentioned everything knowing full well people would use that against him." We both aired out our baggage one night just so we could cleanse our minds. "You seem to mistaken Lucifer for a lousy mortal."

"I truly don't believe this...wow...it's astonishing how convinced you are that he told the truth but why am I surprised he lied? Of course he did."

"I don't want to hear whatever lies you spill from your mouth just so you can hurt our relationship. Ask the fanatics who manipulated Lucifer what happens when they intervene in our business- oh wait they're all dead. Don't spar me with me old man, I know who Lucifer is and I know he isn't the best man in the realm but he's mine...he's all I have." If Siegfried wants me and Lucifer to break up then he's gonna need to try harder.

"Your love blinds you for seeing the true devil that's inside him." He says with a sad tone in his voice almost sounding disappointed. "They say love breeds hope and happiness but in reality it births fear and paranoia, love is dangerous and isn't a game I should know." Now strike whilst the iron is hot.

"Love can be amazing if you open your heart again...you were in love weren't you?" There's a pause between us; as expected the approach I'm taking might trigger him but in the long run it may be beneficial to me. "You had love but it was taken away from you...the paintings on the wall...was about your wife and son..."

"Turned to ash thanks to you." He replies bitterly. "Those paintings were a story that reminded me to keep calm and carry on. Those paintings motivate me from carrying out my destiny and nothing will stop that neither you or Lucifer, once he comes trying to save you I'll rip his head off and use it as a decoration on my throne." I'm guessing this isn't going well. "You're young Salem so you believe there's good in people but the truth is with the right stimulus, the right pressures people can turn into evil motherfuckers...I wasn't like this...evil as you would say but when you lose something that clings you to a straight path...you lose yourself and go down the narrow one. Lucifer is the king of evil and is the embodiment of sin do you really think he'll give up all that power for love?"

"He doesn't need to because we have each other that's enough to quench his desire." Lucifer hasn't gone crazy or committed any wild crimes and when Blaze is ready to take the throne I know Lucifer will step down. "The past is the past but your future can be changed. Fuck destiny and all that prophecy bullshit because we determine our choices not some force or spiritual shit, I know you fight with a broken heart but Lucifer won't give up his mother so stop forcing your fake love on her and let it go. She isn't your wife Siegfried you and I both know that, all this war against Lucifer won't fix that void you have in your heart." I hope my words do something I don't expect a big 180 but something to help him realise that this isn't the way to move on.
