♡Salem POV♡

As much as it killed me to fight Lucifer it needed to be done in order for me to find answers. It definitely hurt that I had to leave early without saying goodbye to Troye but I hope he can forgive me for not attending I just  have to clear my thoughts before it gets out of control and I know one man who can help answer my queries.

Leonardo.

Part of the reason why I didn't want Lucifer joining me is one I'm meeting his father which would result in fighting rather than getting answers and two it would mean revealing my true heritage and who Siegfried is to me...that is just a recipe for disaster.

So going alone is productive and if my hunch is true that Leonardo knew more that he let on then I want to know what he's hiding.

I left the castle walls and now passing through the town avoiding being seen by anyone luckily wearing all black helps blend me with the shadows plus most people are setting up little shrines for Troye which warms my heart that people cared about him.

Leonardo hasn't left the realm yet which is good according to the grape vine he has a castle hidden in Hell and luckily for me I have a little emerald to help me find him, this will always be a proper meeting with Angelique so let's hope shit doesn't hit the fan. I don't want my mother-in-law to hate me even more then she probably already does.

Carrying around this guilt that I could be apart of a plan to destroy Lucifer hurts me and knowing Lucy he would've stupidly ignored the dangerous signs because he thinks I have control but the sad reality is how can I have control of something I don't know about? This new power unlocked within me had its perks but the evil truly outweighs the good in this scenario so finding a way to destroy this evil is the only way yo victory.

And I'm not above sacrificing myself for the greater good.

I still have quiet a way to go till I find the castle but that allows more self reflection on my part and to also process the fact that my parents are still alive even if they aren't who I remember them to be.

Siegfried or Cerventes is someone who I thought died during a rebellion yet now he has managed to somehow inherit power beyond my own. It sounds fishy. The man I admired becoming the very thing he swore himself to never be hurts me badly and I know I shouldn't feel any type of sympathy for him but he still was my papa, a man who devoted himself to his family to make their life better...sadly that man is gone and is replaced by evil. Do I believe he can be redeemed? I'd rather not think about redemption as it will screw with my emotions and side track me.

On my way to the castle I can't help but get this feeling someone is watching me and my thoughts jump to the conclusion that it's Siegfried or those two zombie bitches so I try acting as if I don't sense anything in order for whatever is following me to get closer so I can strike, I take a small flask and fill it up with some water from a small stream listening close to the sounds of boots crunching on the leaves until it suddenly stops. I don't react to the sudden silence still acting nonchalant but I do see from the corner of my eye a figure fluttering in the air making my suspicion that someone is watching me correct. I fling my flask at the spy then use my magic to stun him before seeing who has been on my tail but I'm surprised on who my stalker actually is.

"Get me out of this thing. God here I am trying to be a good person and look out for you and this is how I'm repaid?" Linken exclaims dusting off his wings. "You're a very fast walker for someone wears heels." I don't wear actual heels but I do wear boots that may have an inch or two added to boost my height.

"Why are you following me? Did Lucifer send you?"

"No he didn't actually but my reasoning to follow you is that going alone after being captured isn't the brightest idea especially when we rescued you it didn't come out as...planned." I understand his concern and it's true that I'm being idiotic going alone but I couldn't waste any more time. "So I saw you leave the courtyard in a hurry looking mighty iffy I had to see what you were doing. Speaking of that why the Hell are you travelling for away from home?"
