Once there was a lush, beautiful realm, untouched by man. Sure, it was lived in by its native species, and a number of frightful monsters that roam the nights, but humans had never been here before. Life was simple here. The native people lived their lives during the day in their small villages, and monsters— from undead, to sapient explosive walking plants, to tall, dark teleporters— lived theirs during the night. One day, a portal opened up in the sky. The peoples of this world had heard legends of these portals. Avatars controlled by humans would come through and the peoples would be at these avatars' mercy. Sometimes they came to survive, sometimes they came with godlike powers to build. Sometimes they came to desecrate the world with offensive monuments and horrendous contraptions. Sometimes they came simply to satisfy their need for destruction. They waited in anticipation and fear. Then, girl came through. An innocent looking girl, with pink hair and a pretty dress. The people were not fooled, though. They knew that the avatars of the humans came in many forms. She flew around and explored their world, so they knew she was not here to survive. She found an open field not too far from a few of their villages, and started building. She summoned materials like wood and stone out of midair and build a magnificent house. The villagers and the monsters still had no idea what her plans were for the rest of the world, but as she built, they had no choice but to continue going about their lives. Days and nights passed. She returned through the portal every once in a while only to eventually come back to keep building. Soon, more followed. A bipedal wolf, a bloody boy, a bearded dwarf, more usual looking people, and a short version of the tall teleporters that roam the land. All avatars of humans. They went their separate ways, but stayed mostly close. All expect for one. The only one who came to survive, he traveled very far away to do just that. The others, though, they all came to build. They used godlike powers to fly around, summon endless resources, and build massive buildings and sprawling settlements in just a few days. A few of them came to the villagers, expanding their homes and building strong walls to protect them from the monsters at night. They villagers learned to live in peace with these avatars, and even look forward to their social visits. Even the usually aggressive monsters looked forward to the avatars' visits, whether it be for a good fight or to simply practice peace for a change. Life was good. One day the portal grew darker and started shrinking. The people all watched as the portal grew smaller and darker with each passing day. Finally, when it was as dark as the night sky, and only large enough to fit one person through, the girl came through. The first girl who came through the portal after it first opened up. She had a sad look on her face. She looked over the people, villagers and monsters alike, and her face grew sadder. She flew around the realm, examining all that she and her friends had built. All the towns, and monuments, and houses, and vehicles. Everything they spent so much time working together, or separately, on. Then, she sighed and looked up to the portal. It was almost invisible and nearly too small to fit through. She flew up to it, sparing the peoples one last glance, before flying up into it right before it winked out of existence, gone forever.
