"Woah..." I murmur to myself. My eyes wander down Carly's body as she exits the control room. My eyes hesitate over her butt before they move on. Finally she passes out of sight. Serena slaps me on the back, startling me. "Did I hear that right?" She's smiling widely. "Did Carly just ask you out on a date?" I gulp as I realize thats exactly what she just did. "I didn't even think she's noticed me," I say. She comes in front of me and pulls me towards the door by my hand. "Come on, we've gotta get you ready," She says excitedly. "Really? I've got almost an hour and a half." I let her pull me along. "You can never take too long to get ready for a date," She says. I quicken things up and teleport us in front of my house. We're in West Forest, not too far away from West Wall. If I turn to the east and can actually see it's base through the trees. When me and my parents moved to Endromidus, Joey got us a house with plenty of space so that my parents could continue gardening. It's their favorite pastime, and one of the main reasons they decided to stay on earth. The house is small, but quaint. It's got two stories, but the second floor is only my room and a personal bathroom. I open the door and take us inside. The smell of baking bread wafts over is. "Mother, Father, I'm home," I call. Mother is in the kitchen. "Welcome home, dear. Ah, you brought a guest." She comes out into the living room where we've entered and wraps me in a hug. "Protector Serena, good to see you," she says, cheerfully. "Is there anything I can get you?" Serena smiles and shakes her head. "Thank you for the offer, ma'am. I should be fine, though," she says. I look around. "Where's Father?" I ask. "Oh, he's out watering the plants." She says. "He's what?!" I ask, suddenly worried. "Oh, you worry to much, dear. Your father is very careful. He'll be fine." She says, resting a hand on my shoulder. Water is toxic to endermen. When it comes in contact with their skin, it causes vicious burns. Too much exposure can even lead to death. I look out the window and see Father spraying over the garden with a hose. I wish he'd leave that to me. I sigh and let it go, though. "We're gonna head upstairs and hang out in my room, " I say, leading Serena to the stairs. "Ok, dear. Let me know if you need anything," She says, returning to her work in the kitchen. I take us up to my room. Serena gets to work immediately, throwing open my closet and looking through my clothes, looking for an outfit she deems worthy. I sit on my bed and simply watch. She pulls out a pair of skinny jeans, takes a moment to examine them, then tosses them to me. "Try these on," She instructs, without turning around. They're blue jeans, and they've got bedazzled back pockets. I do as she asks, slipping into the jeans. They're tight, but not uncomfortably so. Serena turns around once they're on, and takes a good look at me. She twirls her finger. "Turn," she orders. I do as she asks, spinning around so she can see me at all angles. "You look good." She smiles. "Ok, now let's get you a good shirt." "Should I really get dressed now? I still need to take a shower," I point out. She waves away my concern. "We'll pick out your outfit now, and try it on, then you can go take a shower," she says. I sigh and sit down again. She goes through shirt after shirt. A black and white stripped one, a too-small crop top that I haven't worn in years, a tight black and red shirt that I wouldn't dare let my parents know I own. She finally decides on a cute black shirt with a flower pattern on it. One of my favorites, actually. "Cute!" She gushes once I pull on the shirt. "Alright, now strip. Go take your shower so I can get your hair and makeup done," she turns and walks out. She closes the door behind her and I can hear her heading downstairs. I take off the clothes and lay them out on my bed. I grab a towel and head into the shower. I sigh as the warm water rushes over me. I hadn't realized how tense I'd been until I relaxed. I close my eyes and let the water run down my body. I've never been on a date before. Never a serious one, at least, and never with a girl. Not to say I'm completely inexperienced, or even innocent. I mean, I've never had sex before, but I've had a couple short relationships. Gone out a few times as a group. Just never a real, one on one, dinner date with such a beautiful girl. I'm more than a little nervous. And with Carly? One of the Valentine sisters; one of the trio who actually took down Joey and kept him in captivity for a good few days; a powerful gorgon with the ability to turn people to stone with a glance; one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen... A shiver runs through me, despite the hot water. I finish cleaning myself thoroughly and step out of the shower. I dry myself off and then wrap the towel around me. I exit into my room and start to redress. Suddenly I spot a pair of underwear that I'd forgotten about. I stare at them thoughtfully. I'd bought them on an impulse. I only ever wore them once, but no one's ever seen me in them. My parents would kill me if they ever found out I had such a pair. I make up my mind. I grab the lacy panties as well as the matching bra and put them on. A glance at the mirror shows that I've grown a little since I last wore these. I quickly put my clothes back on, lest Serena come back and see me in the embarrassing attire. Finally, fully dressed, I open my door and call Serena back up. I head into the bathroom and plug in the hair dryer. She comes in just as I turn it on and start blowing through my hair. She starts going trough my makeup drawers, looking for something to put on me. "Aha!" She seems to find what she's looking for, just as I finish with the dryer. My hair's still slightly damp, but dry enough to put up. I start putting it into a pony tail. "Nu uh. I don't think so," she says. "What?" I ask incredulously. "I was gonna braid your hair. A French braid, maybe," she says. I sigh. "Do we really need to go thorough all this trouble? It's just a date," I say, letting my hair fall back down. "But don't you want to look good for it?" She asks. "I look plenty good." I say, half heartedly. "Yes you do, love, but I'm gonna make you drop dead gorgeous." And with that, she gets to work. She turns me around and starts doing my makeup. Lipstick, mascara, eye liner, blush. I don't let her do any eye shadow. That's never been my style. When she's done, she doesn't let me see. "Ah ah ah. Not yet. Let me do your hair first. Don't worry, I'll be fast." And boy is she fast. In less than a minute, she has my hair in a perfect French braid. I guess years of braiding ten foot long hair every morning leaves a gal skilled in the art. I glance at the time. 7:50. "Almost done," she says as she finishes up my hair. She pulls out a flower that I recognize from Mother's garden. "Really?" I let out a short laugh. "Oh, come on. You'll look cute," She says, pouting. I sigh with a smile. "Fine," I say. She hums happily and sticks the flower into my hairdo. Finally she lets me look in the mirror. My jaw drops at what a good job she did. I lean closer in disbelief, turning my head to the sides. "Holy crap, Serena," I say. "You did an amazing job." She smiles and waves off my praise. "Helps when I've already got a masterpiece to work with," she says. I can't help but blush at her words. I look up at the clock. 7:58. "Carly should be here soon. Let's go downstairs to wait," I say, grabbing my purse and heading to the stairs. As if on cue, right as we reach the living room, a knock sounds at the door. I'm right there, so I open it and there stands Carly. I freeze at the sight of her. I thought I looked pretty? Carly is beyond beautiful. She's wearing casual nice clothes, like me. Skinny jeans that hug her legs in a way I'd never be able to pull off myself. A super cute crop top that shows plenty of skin. Her makeup is amazing: eye shadow that makes her eyes pop, lipstick that makes her lips look fuller, and blush that gives her cheeks even more color than she normally has. And it doesn't look heavily applied. On her, it looks gorgeous. The perfect balance between makeup and natural skin. I watch as her striking, grey eyes run up and down my body, taking in my outfit. Her gaze send a shiver down my spine. Her beauty makes my mouth go dry and leaves me at a loss for words. "Well, hello there, gorgeous." She says. It breaks me out of my trance, and I step aside to let her in. "Hi," is all I can say. "Uh, come on in." She steps into the house. She smiles widely when she sees Serena. "Hey, Serena. Will you be joining us tonight?" She asks. They hug and Serena shakes her head. "No need to worry about me crashing your party. I was just here helping out Rachel. I'll be off now." She steps out through the still open door, taking it out of my hand to close it. "Rachel," she whispers as she passes. "Don't be awkward. Talk. Make tonight a good night." "Wait, how are you going to get home?" I ask. She smiles. "I've been working on a little something. Alchemist's secret." And with that, she closes the door. Mother suddenly comes out of the kitchen. "Who's here, dear?" She asks. When she sees Carly, she smiles widely. "Ah, another guest. Welcome to our home." She steps forward and holds out her hand. "To whom do I owe the pleasure?" She asks. Carly smiles and shakes Mother's hand. "The name's Carly, ma'am," "Carly. What a lovely name. I hear you're here to take my daughter on her first date." I feel my face turn red at that, and I puff out my cheeks before releasing the breath. Serena must've told her. "Alright, I think it's time for us to go. Don't want to be late for the restaurant, after all." I hurriedly take Carly's hand and lead us outside. "Bye, Mother. Tell Father I said I love him." I call behind me as I close the door. Carly laughs lightheartedly at my embarrassment. "You're a little cutie, you know that, right?" She says. I turn around and am greeted by a motorcycle. "I didn't know you had a motorcycle," I say. She hops onto it, and I get on behind her. "I don't. I can ride, but I'm still saving up for one. Serena let my borrow hers. I called her just a bit ago to ask." The motorcycle revs to life, and I can feel it vibrating beneath me. "I've never ridden one before," I admit, over the sound of the engine. Carly chuckles. "Hold on to me, and I'll give you a ride to remember," she says, probably knowing full well all the different ways that could be taken. I wrap my arms around her waist as she revs the engine again, and we take off. I can't help but let out a short scream as we rocket towards a tree. I tighten my grip on her waist. Right as I think we're going to hit the tree, she whips us around and we speed off in the opposite direction, towards West Wall. There's no paved road out here, but a packed dirt road leads from my house to the wall. I don't dare loosen my grip. She doesn't hold back, and we're at the wall in less than a minute. She slows down a little— but not much— in between the wall and the populated area, and then really slows down to reasonable speeds once other cars start appearing on the road. Finally, we park in an open spot near downtown, and get off. "Just a little farther on foot," She says.
