"You sure about this? How long have you been growing it out again?" I ask. She smiles awkwardly. "If I told you, you wouldn't believe me," Serena says. "Try me." She sighs. "About a hundred years." "Wow." I lean back. "Impressive." "It's so strange having you know my secret. No one knows my secret. Not even other immortals. And I don't know theirs. I'm sorry you found out the way you did. I planned to tell you eventually." She sounds sad. "Don't worry about it, love. Really. It's a huge secret. I don't blame you for keeping it, even from me," I assure her. "Anyways. Enough about that. I ask again, are you sure about this. You've put a lot of time into this hair, and you're just going to chop it off?" "The time has come to cut it. And it's not like I'm cutting all of it. Just enough to make it look normal again." She shrugs. "Who knows? I might even loose the blue too." "Wow. You're going all out." I say. "Exactly. Now shoo. Give me some space." She chases me out of the bathroom, and shuts the door. After a few minutes I hear the clipping of scissors cutting through her hair. I sit on the bed to wait for her. After about 10 minutes, the bathroom door opens and she steps out. I get up and take her in. Her hair is no longer in braids that hang down by her butt, but loose, and just long enough to cover her shoulders. It's also no longer blue, and a more natural dark brown. "So? What do you think?" She asks confidently. "Wow... You look amazing!" I say. She smiles and comes over to hug me. I embrace her in return. "I was hoping you'd like it," She says.
