I'm sitting in a small Mexican restaurant called Salsarita's. I'm eating a quesadilla, my mom and sisters are with me at the table. I'm about to take another bite when I hear the door to the restaurant slam open. The chatter stops as everyone looks to the newcomer. I turn around to get a look myself, but I have a sneaking suspicion I already know who it is. In the doorway stands a girl, about my age. She has brown hair, and tanned skin. There's a crazed look in her dark brown, fury filled eyes. Her name is Jennifer. She's my girlfriend. And an angry one, I might add. "Ian!" She shrieks. I flinch and glance at the table next to us. At it, sits three police officers. I need to calm her down and get her out of here fast, before she does something she's going to regret. I get up and push past Maya, my sister, to get out of the booth. I mumble an apology to her before I rush over to Jennifer and put my hands on her shoulders. "Calm down, Jen. We can do this another time." I whisper. "No! Don't touch me, you asshole!" She pulls away from me. "I'm going to kill you." An officer walks up behind me. "Is everything alright here?" He asks. "Everything's fine. We were just leaving." I say, through gritted teeth. "No. Everything is not fine." She says. "Don't make me angry, Jen. Let's get out of here and talk about this alone." I say. "You know what I'm like when I'm angry." "Come on, then. Get angry. Come at me- hey!" I grab her arm and start pulling her outside. "Let go of me!" She struggles. I don't let go, continuing to pull her outside. "Sir, please let g-" The officer doesn't get a chance to finish his sentence. I barely see her fist flying towards my face out of the corner of my eye. My head is thrown to the side when her knuckles connect. It's as if everything in my body stops. All my joints lock mid stride, halfway out the door. I hear Jen laughing as she knows what she's done. Suddenly I pull her arm forward, throwing her with all my might out the door onto the street. She crumples into a heap on the ground. She gets up, still laughing. "Come on, then." I say. She rushes at me, dropping to all fours and transforming into a huge wolf. She snarls as she jumps up at me, aiming for my face. I dodge to the side, letting her smash into the door we just left. She recovers quickly, rushing back to attack me again. This time, when she jumps, I catch her and use her momentum to toss her over my head. She twists in the air and lands on her feet. She growls at me, circling a little bit. We charge at the same time. She jumps up and I catch her by her front paws. We lock together, both struggling to knock the other over. She snaps at me a few times, aiming to tear out my throat. "Come on, Jen. Enough of this." I growl. She only barks in return. I gain an advantage and throw her to the ground. Then I quickly drop down, bringing my elbow down on her chest. She yelps and squirms on the ground as I get up. She slowly turns back into a human, gasping for breath. I turn to walk back inside. "Get.. get back here!" She says weakly. "I'm not done with you!" "We will finish this another time." I say, reentering the restaurant.
