We're driving along back roads in the Smoky Mountains. It's beautiful out here! I've never been here before. Everything is amazing. I've already seen three wild black bears, a wild coyote, and two wild deer. We're on our way home from a day of hiking. My friends, Jess, Chloe, Luke, Marco, and Nicole, are in the back and Mr. Wayne, Jessica's dad, is driving. I'm in the front seat with him. I look out the window, into the forest. We pass by some sort of black creature in the woods. I whip my head around to look back at it. Was that...? It couldn't have been. It was probably just a bear. But then we pass another, and another. Then I look in the rear view mirror and see the black forms chasing our car. And they're gaining ground. I turn to Mr. Wayne. "I need you to keep driving forward. No matter what happens, keep going to the cabin." I say. "What are out talking about, Ian?" He asks, confused. I unbuckle and open the window. "Just do as I say. Don't. Stop. Driving. You hear me, soldier?" I ask, very serious. He used to be in the marine corp. He looks at me with concern now. I hold his gaze for a few moments. "O-ok. Whatever you say." He says. I then proceed to jump out the window. Before I hit the ground, my body turns into that of a huge wolf. I land on my paws. Mr. Wayne, keeping his word, keeps driving on. I rush back towards the creatures chasing us. They are smaller than me now, but much more numerous. There are fifteen of them now, and more keep coming out of he woods. These creatures are extremely dangerous. They're acromantulas. And they're hunting. Hunting us. I must protect my friends in the van. Me and the first acromantula meet, slamming into each other in the road. I quickly bite into it's small head, efficiently killing the giant spider. The others have caught up now and are surrounding me. They are preparing to pounce. I must strike first, so I do. I jump on the nearest spider, tearing into its head, killing it quick. But now the others are on me. Some jump on my back and start trying to bite trough my fur, others snap at my legs. I thrash, throwing the ones off my back. I reach down, bite the head of one, and fling it at another. One of them gets a good bite in and injects some venom. I quickly detach it from my leg, before he could get too much into my system, but I'm already starting to feel woozy. The others take this chance to jump on my back again, getting more bites in. I back up towards a rock wall and get up on my hind legs. I slam my back against the wall, crushing whatever spiders are back there. Now a ton of their venom is in my blood now, and I can barely see. There's still many more acromantulas surrounding me. I growl and snarl, tying to intimidate them. It doesn't work. They know I'm weak. They start closing in. Suddenly Mr. Wayne's van flies trough, plowing through a few of the spiders. I jump back, and the remaining spiders are startled. I hear the tired screech as he stops, and jumps out. He has his gun with him. I remember him telling me he kept that in his glovebox. He point his gun and fires at the acromantulas. He kills each one, one by one. A spider rushes at him and jumps, but is blasted back when Wayne fires his gun. I walk over to him, slowly transforming back into a human. I stand up, shakily. "I told you to keep driving. These guys were hunting you. You needed to protect the others." I said. "My job is to protect you guys. All of you." He says. We get back into the car. The venom should wear off soon.
