Into the Breach

I've just received word that the demon prison is about to open. I've returned home for a short while to rally support from the Endromic Fighters. I've currently gathered them around city hall and have prepared a speech. I pick up the microphone and teleport to the roof of the awning over the front doors of he building. "Attention everyone." I say. "I've gathered you here today to ask you for a monumental favor. I've been taking tremendous measures to help protect another dimension's world from distruction recently, and now I've all but failed. I'm going to make a final stand against a horde of demons of unimaginable power. I have great allies in the other universe, but I fear it's not enough. Now I'm here asking for any volunteers who will come with me to make this final stand." I say into the microphone. People in the crowd start shifting uncomfortably. "I understand what you're probably thinking. 'Why should we risk our lives against impossible odds? All for a world that's not our own.' I truly understand. But I believe that everyone, everywhere needs protecting some time or another. And now this foreign world is about to end, and the majority of the planet have no idea. I have to help. And I'm asking for your support in the battle as well. This is who the Endromic Fighters are. Sure, we protect our home with undying loyalty, but it's also our job to protect the innocent and helpless." Some people in the crown murmur their agreements. "We won't fight alone. We'll have support from powerful allies on the other side. But these allies will still need our support in return. Now, who's with me? Who will fight along side me in defense of this world?" I ask. Murmurs turn to shouts, and shouts turn to cheers. I pull out the device that lets me traverse dimensions and punch in our location's code. A large blue portal opens up at the edge of the crowd. Almost as soon as it's open, people start charging in. "Into the Breach!" I shout, and charge through the portal myself.
