It was too warm to sleep as the steaming Mexico air seemed to be swarming into the hotel room and wrapping me up in a hug. Nyck, on the other hand, was sleeping with a soft snore. We had arrived back to the hotel with Nyck in a slightly upset mood due to his DNF on track today and had barely uttered a word to me apart from when he said goodnight. I appreciated the token gesture as I understood it was hard for Nyck to communicate after a DNF so his small action of care meant a lot. I turned slightly under the thin sheet to see Nyck with his mouth slightly parted and his hair lying softly in curls upon his tanned skin. I sighed in dismay at his sleeping but jumped slightly when his eyes opened to meet mine.

"What's wrong?"

Nyck muttered sweetly, gently placing his hand on my hair.

"I can't sleep, it's too warm and I feel bad for you."

I replied with a pout, Nyck chuckled and pulled me closer to him but flicked the sheet off.

"I'm okay about today, it's happened and onto the next one, just lie with me forever so you're never too cold but never too warm and then we should both sleep."

I laughed at his response and lay me head down so it was next to his on the pillow.I could only smile happily when Nyck softly kissed me before holding me again.

"ik hou van jou"

Nyck whispered, falling once again back into a deep slumber.

"I love you to Nyck."

With that we both fell into a peaceful sleep, with Nyck holding me lovingly in his arms.
