Littlemissunnoticed

Hiring a villa by the beach was the best idea Max had ever had, and that includes proposing to me! There was a gentle breeze from the sea, one that carried a light scent of salt that was keeping me cool despite the roasting Bali temperatures. The doors of the kitchen led straight to the private beach where Max and I had been swimming in peace without the fear of paparazzi or fans coming up to us. It was the third day of the wedding vacation; Max and I were enjoying dinner in the resort over looking the sea. Conversation had faded as we delved into the delicious food but Max kept sending me quick glances and smirks over his food,

"What's up with you?" I mused with a grin,

"It's insane it's just..." he trailed off,

I raised my eyebrows and gestured for him to keep going,

"I'll tell you later, how about a walk on the beach for when the moon is up?" He asked,

I nodded with a smile, one that widened when the dessert came into eyesight.

Max was laughing loudly as I struggled to get the clasp off my shoes in order to walk on the beach,

"They'll be fine, they were like €500, I'm sure they can withstand some sand!" He exclaimed,

"They probably can but my ankles can't, try walking in heels on flat ground then come for me Verstappen!" I shot back, finally slipping off the shoes and stepping onto the sand.

Despite the dark sky and night breeze the sand was pleasantly warm and felt soft between my toes, Max linked in his fingers through mine and we began the walk along the shore back to our villa.

"Sooooo what did you want to say before?" I asked slyly, after a spout of silence, Max chuckled nervously and stopped walking, turning me to face him.

"It's crazy that you're my wife now, officially husband and wife, you are Mrs Verstappen!" He grinned like a school boy, slight rose flush to his cheeks and pearly whites beaming at me.

I laughed cheerily at his little revelation, "Yes Max, well done, that's what the very expensive wedding was for." I mocked in a condescending tone,

"Hey you can thank my Brazil win for that, the bonus money let me stretch for the over the top flowers you wanted!" He joking said,

I rolled my eyes, Max had a lovely ongoing joke with himself at the moment that he paid for the majority of the wedding, whilst this was true, he had insisted he would pay for it using his racing money. Once again, we fell into a gentle walk, the waves lapping gently against the sand and the moon glimmering against the horizon.
