January 18, 1989

A few days after the winter break, (Y/n) (L/n) was back in school with the rest of her classmates. It was just another typical day, nothing special. Well mostly normal, (Y/n) would try to avoid her sister, Madeline and her ex-best friends, Margaret and Isabella. Ever since Madeline's lying, (Y/n) barely had any friends. There was still one girl she could count on her best friend, Shannon.

(Y/n) saw Shannon sitting at their usually seats at lunch. Shannon had dark skin, black wavy hair, and light brown eyes. She was like a sister to (Y/n) than Madeline could ever be. They always have each other's back and nothing could break their bond.

(Y/n) sat next to Shannon as they talked about their grades from their history class.

"So what did you get, Shannon?" (Y/n) asked.

Shannon pulled out her paper from her backpack. "I go a B+. You?"

"I got an A-."

"Of course you would. You are a straight A student and you made it to the top of the class."

They laughed it off. Shannon shown that she made essay about the voodoo history while (Y/n) made her essay about the mysteries of a serial killer.

"What's the story of serial killer you wrote about?" Shannon questioned. "I research that he used to be a radio host, but he secretly killed many people." (Y/n) explained. "Woah, what happened to him?" Shannon raised her brow. "He died in 1933 from a dog-related incident." (Y/n) viewed over her paper. "Again, woah." Shannon comments. "You're telling me." (Y/n) agrees.

They continued to enjoy their lunch, but it rudely interrupted by Madeline and her lackeys.

"Well, well, well. What do we have hear? A Shannon and a (Y/n), two of the biggest losers in the school." Madeline mocks as Margaret and Isabella laughed. (Y/n) stood up and faced her twin sister. "Hey, Maddie. Since we share the same blood, doesn't that make you one of the biggest loser too?"

Some of the kids around them laughed as Madeline couldn't find the right words. "You want me to deal with these two, Maddie?" Margaret cracked her knuckles. "No. These two aren't worth it." Madeline decline the offer. "Besides, we could get into trouble." Isabella adds.

"Shut up, Izzy!" Both girls yelled. Isabella whimpers. The three girls decided to leave while Shannon and (Y/n) were glad about it.

"Remind me again on how we used to be friends with those three?" (Y/n) rubs her head.

"I don't know. I just feel bad for you and Jason that you're related to that brat." Shannon pats (Y/n)'s back.

"Yeah, I mean sometimes I wish my mom would believe me and Jason about Maddie, but she's too much of a lair. My dad knows and he doesn't even care. He just supports her!"

"Again, I feel bad for you."

It's true that (Y/n) and her brother, Jason tried convince their mother about Madeline being a selfish, lying, brat. No matter how hard they tried, Maddie was one step ahead. Their father didn't care about what Maddie what doing. He considered her his favorite since his two other children didn't support his secret job he has. He had more secrets such as cheating on wife and verbally abusing everyone, except for Madeline. (Y/n) hated those two memories in her family. Sometimes she wished that her life was much more normal than the one she has now.

A few hours have passed and it was time to head home. Shannon and (Y/n) said their goodbyes as they went their separate ways. (Y/n) didn't feel like going home yet, so she decide to take a walk through the forest near her school. She would always walked into the forest to try to get things out of her head. She would occiontally stop and watch the animals as they stared back at her. She had always have a liking towards animals. Once the animals would go along their ways, (Y/n) would continue her walk. Only this time, she didn't noticed that she was walking father than usual. What felt like forever, (Y/n) found a log to rest her feet. She lets out a sigh as she relaxed and tried to hear the sounds of nature, only she couldn't hear anything. No wind. No bird chirping. No squirrels running through the trees. Nothing, but silence. She found it odd that she couldn't hear anything. She thought she lost her hear. (Y/n) looks up to the sky and saw that the sun was about to set.

"I guess its time to go home." (Y/n) reached for her backpack, but suddenly some of her books feel out. She sighed in frustration and went to get them. As she picked up her books, she noticed something on the ground. She picked her last book up. A fearful gasped escaped her mouth. She was standing on a pentagram. "A pentagram!" She quickly picks up her bag pack and faced out of the forest. "Yeah, like I planned to be cursed!"

(Y/n) ran as fast as her feet could carry her. Not far, she could see her house from a few feet away. She quickly enters inside and pants of how exhausted she was.

"(Y/n)? Is that you, Honey?" It was her mother, Rebecca calling out.

Yeah, Mom!" (Y/n) pants. "I was just running!" She drops her backpack to the floor as she lets out a sigh of relief.

"Hey, (Y/n). Where you've been? You missed the movie." Jason was sitting on the couch with his girlfriend, Carrie.

Carrie and (Y/n) were in good terms with each other. (Y/n) thought she was perfect for her big brother. She would sometimes teased them about getting married. Carrie would sometimes hang out with (Y/n) and have some girl times together.

"Yeah, you missed Jaws." Carried said.

"Awww, man!" (Y/n) whines.

"Don't worry, it comes out again next week. We could watch again then."

"And I'm better."

Rebecca was in the kitchen as she was finishing cooking dinner. "Carrie, Honey, would you like to stay for dinner?" She said.

"That's very sweet of you. Mrs. (L/n), but I have to head home. Its turn to make dinner." Carrie kindly declines.

"Oh, well. Maybe next time."

Carrie grabbed her belongs and heads towards the door. As Carrie and Jason said goodnight, she gives her boyfriend a peck on the cheek. Once Carrie was gone, (Y/n) began to tease her brother on how romantic they were together. Jason playfully glares at his sisters as he nudges her to the table. Now, the whole family was sitting down eating dinner. Maddie was going on and on of how she was so popular at school thanks to her skills. Rebecca was happy for her daughter, but Jason and (Y/n) rolled their eyes for her. Rebecca asked her other children about school, they both replied that it went well, but (Y/n) couldn't bring herself to tell them about the pentagram she found in the forest. She wanted to tell someone.

And she knew just the right person to tell.
