"And you've found a pentagram at the forest?!" Shannon yells. (Y/n) quickly shushes her. "Shhh!!! Yes, I do. And stop saying it so loud!"
(Y/n) and Shannon were in (Y/n)'s backyard as they were near her garden. (Y/n) called Shannon over to hang out and to tell her about the pentagram.
"Have you told anyone else." Shannon asked. (Y/n) shook her head. "Okay, that good. We could avoid any trouble. Was there any demons or something." Shannon continued to question. Again,(Y/n) shook her head.
They were both relieved about not having any demons with them. That could have ended very bad. Shannon told (Y/n) not to mention it to anyone and to stay away from that part of the forest. (Y/n) agreed without hesitation. they didn't want to get involved with anything reckless or dangerous. They decided to change their subject of conversation and decided to do some more gardening together. As they both were working together on planting more seeds, (Y/n) noticed something on Shannon's arm. She grabs her arm and what she saw made her eyes widen. Bruises. Lots of them.
"Is...Is she doing it to you and your dad again?" (Y/n) asked. Shannon shamefully nods. Mostly everyone in town knew what kind of person Shannon's mother, Lucy was. Shannon's Father, Dallas would try to protect his daughter and that would have ended with him getting the beating instead of Shannon. One time they tried to leave Lucy, but she would always blackmail or threaten them. She was an evil and conniving women. (Y/n) hated that women, she hated with her wth a burning passion.
"Shannon, you have to tell someone. Before things could get worse for you and your dad." (Y/n) reasoned. "You know I can't. If I try, she might do something to us or you." Shannon had tears in her eyes. (Y/n) pulled her best friend into a comforting hug. She wished that she could do more for her best friend. After all, they both have each other backs.
The sky was getting dark. Shannon knew she had to get home before her mother gets angry. Before Shannon could leave, (Y/n) begs her not to go. She feared for her best friend's life. Shannon smiles weakly at her and told her she'll be fine. She assures (Y/n) that they would see each other at school tomorrow. (Y/n) had to take her word for it and watched her best friend leave her home. What she didn't know something terrible will happen the next day.

(Y/n) was in history class, her favorite subject, but something didn't feel right. She continued to listen to her teacher, Mrs. Honey. Her favorite teacher. As the lesson was going on, the speakers suddenly came on. The principal made an announcement. A terrible, heartbreaking one.
"Please excuse the interruption, but I have some heartbreaking news. A student, Shannon Ross....she and her father having passed."
Everyone in classed gasped at the new. (Y/n) couldn't process on what the principal said. All she could feel is her heart breaking. Tears slowly flowed down her face.
"Apparently, the family was poison that was secretly in their food, the mother is in the hospital in critical care. Sadly to say is that Shannon and her father didn't make it. Im sorry to all those who were her friends and to all that know her. We will have a moment of silence for them."
(Y/n) heavily breaths. She couldn't take it no more. She couldn't!!! She collapsed to the ground and a loud sob was heard in the class. Mrs. Honey quickly ran towards (Y/n) and tries to comfort her student. (Y/n) lets out her pain out through her cries. She cried and cried and she couldn't stop the tears from falling.

Everyone was dresses in black as many people surrounded the graves stones of Shannon and Dallas Ross. The sky was gray and rain fell as it hits the earth. (Y/n) and her family were in front as they were ready to say their goodbyes. (Y/n)'s father, Caleb and Madeline didn't care about the funeral. That made (Y/n) furious at them. She couldn't stand them anymore. Her tears were like tiny river coming down her face. One by one, everyone left the cemetery, but there was one person still there. (Y/n) kneels down and places the flowers on the graves. She was going to miss Shannon. She was more than her best friend, she was her sister. She even thought of Dallas as her second father. Now, their gone forever.
(Y/n)'s all alone now.
