Lauren sat in her chair for the past three hours typing away nonsense on her computer. At this point Kaila was growing tired the more she "played" with all the games Lauren left for her. As much as she wanted to be able to relax and color, she knew more important matters were at hand. She just wanted Lauren to leave so she could dig through the file she found.

Three long hours of trying not to slip, not to find herself lost in the vast array of colors, not to forget that someone she loves and adores the most was in trouble. Her attention had been sprawled all over the place for the past hour. She had been thinking about all types of things, slipping in and out of little space.

And just when she felt herself get lost, the most amazing sound was heard. Lauren's pager left on top of her desk began vibrating. The taller girl groaned grabbing it and looking at the announcement it had. She stood up and shut her laptop. "I'll be back Kay, I have a meeting I need to be at. Keep on playing, I'll bring you back some lunch when I get back." She said tiredly, not making eye contact with the little girl who had the largest smile on her face.

She watched happily as Lauren shut the door behind her, internally celebrating Kaila stood from the white rug and began jumping around. She laughed grabbing the file from underneath her coloring books.

Finally the moment she was waiting for, she sat down on Lauren's office chair and placed the file in front of her. She finally let her sticky fingers pry off the front tab unleashing all the contents inside. Immediately the first thing she saw was a picture of Lain looking rather small and exhausted.

"Mommy," she whispered out touching Lain's tired face. A small tear dropped down onto the page, Kaila didn't even feel herself tearing up. Looking at Lain's face was enough to set the little girl off edge, she was hurt looking at the pain Lain was in.

Flipping through the pages, Kaila found many reports all stacked up on one another. Picking one of the many she began reading.

"Patient 102: Lain Colden..." Kaila looked up lost. 'Patient?' Looking further down she saw yesterday's date marked on the top and underneath was a long paragraph of text.

"Patient 102 has been showing another set of escape attempts, and another set of guards and doctors had been assaulted. None of the easy treatment plans are working. We are to move to level three, but if her behavioral problems still don't cease then move to level four. Patient has been moved to high alert, guards are to be bound by the door at all times. Nobody besides medical professionals or interrogators enter or leave. She is to get no outside contact with anyone. Set up another evaluation in three days time. If no improvement is made, jump to level five."

Everything written shattered her heart. So many questions she had with no answers to satisfy. 'What do these levels mean? Level three? Level four? Level five?' Were her main ones at hand. She knew Lain would be resilient and stubborn to give in to their ways. But by the picture hung in the folder, she looked as if she were getting ready to give up. She continued flipping through the pages within the manilla folder reading every entry made, each one stating everything similarly to the last. Each one describing Lain's persistent fight, and each one detailing how they were 'reinforcing' good behavior. The new treatments they were pushing did nothing but hurt and distribute pain onto Lain.

Finally when she reached the end of the paperwork she had no more strength left in her being to hold back her sorrows. Letting go, she began dropping the tear drops down onto the papers. She didn't care if she ruined the papers by getting them wet, all she cared about was what the final entry detailed at the very end of the folder.

While there was a picture of Lain in the beginning showing her fairly beaten up face, in the back showed a horrific scene. There was a picture of a dark room, no light shone through it except the light gleaming in from an open door. In the center of the room sat a metal chair, a hard and cold chair made to inflict pain on the beholder.

The chair had a pool of red surrounding it's legs. It wasn't even until she took a closer look did she see the chair wasn't empty. Upon further inspection, Kaila leaned in crying seeing Lain covered in her own set of blood and sweat. Her clothes had been secured against her skin, the dried blood underneath the newly spewed blood gluing it to her body.

Her hair was in disarray, her once neatly made long brown hair, now looked like a pile of fur surrounding her face and body. She looked as if she couldn't see from how much hair was in front of her face. Kaila was shaking as she grabbed the picture from off the folder. Holding it between her fingertips, she rubbed against the image. Bringing it to her chest she held the picture close to her heart. Nothing was going to let them get away with what they've done. "I'm going to find you." She whispered out lovingly.

She wanted to bring Lain out of the misery she was clearly in, she needed answers and she needed them now. Anything to put her mind at ease, anything to get more information on Lain's whereabouts, anything to understand the trouble the two girls had found themselves in.

Kaila cried as she shut the folder, she felt as if she were turning her back on the one woman who showed her what true love felt like. Moving back to the rug, Kaila hid the folder in between two large books in Lauren's office bookshelves. Falling back to her place on the rug, she hurdled herself into a ball on the floor letting herself get all her emotions out before Lauren got back.

Everything kept spiraling around in her head, she had so many things to think through. In times like this she wished she had someone to talk to, to confide in and be told everything was going to be ok. Little did she know Lauren was stood outside her office door listening to the small girls tears.
