"What did I say about staying put?!" Lauren yelled furiously at Kaila. Grabbing the small girl by her arm Lauren dragged Kaila back up the hall and into the chair outside her parents office. "You wandered off! Even after you knew what was on the line and you still went out of your way to disobey me!"

Per usual fresh tears were making there way down Kaila's cheeks staining them red. "But-"

"No buts! How dare you leave after I told you how many times not to move from this seat! Your lucky my parents didn't walk outside! I told them I had a hand on you, and if they came out and saw you gone! I'd be dead, and so would your friend! When are you going to realize you don't only represent yourself in this establishment! You represent yourself and Lain! If you do something out of line, her punishments get worst! Last warning, I swear! If this doesn't get engraved into your head then I'll happily report back to spike Lain's treatment! At least then you'll start listening and behaving! What the hell were you even doing at that conference?!"

"A lady dropped her keys an I wanted to give em back" the small girls hands were trembling when she pointed towards the key dangling out of Lauren's grip.

Raising her eyebrow Lauren stared straight down at her still shaken up friend. The anger was still fuming off the tall girl, she didn't care that Kaila was trying to return something. She told her specifically not to move, and the action of betrayal called for repercussion.

"It doesn't matter! Get up! We're going back to my office now!" Wrapping her hand around the Kaila's wrist, Lauren tugged her through the labyrinths of hallways until they got back to their department. The wooden walls turned into white ones, and the surroundings became familiar.

Knowing they were getting closer to their destination, Kaila began wiggling and shaking trying to force herself out of Lauren's hold. But the taller girls grip only got stronger. Pulling the strangling girl closer to her body, Lauren smacked Kaila's butt hard.

"Keep this up, Kay. I dare you." She scarily said in a near growl bending in front of Kaila as they stopped in the middle of the hall. The few people who were in the halls could make out as clear as day what had happened. "I am not in the mood for any more of your misbehavior. Time and time again you do something that's nearly got me in trouble. For once in your life listen." Beginning up with her strides again, Lauren guided Kaila all the way back to her office.

Without saying another word, Lauren threw Kaila's hand away from her, causing the small girl to fall on her hands and knees in the office, while Lauren slammed the office door behind them. "Corner! Go!" She frustatedly put her hands to her face as she went to her leather chair.

Stumbling to find her balance Kaila wobbled over to the corner closest to her aching body from the fall. Taking a look at Lauren, Kaila could feel her eyes lingering there for too long. Dangerously long. Not wanting to be yelled at again, she decided it was time to stick her nose to the corner, while putting on her biggest pout as she stared at the empty wall.

An eternity passed before Lauren called Kaila out of the corner. Moving from the corner felt like a relief to Kaila, she was glad to finally be able to move again. Getting on her knees in front of Lauren, Kaila watched as Laurens face muscles loosened up.

"You know why I had to do that, don't you?" She asked more scared for the answer than she should have been. Waiting for the small nod, the girl in the leather seat asked her why.

"Cause I kept being bad." She simplified.

"What were you doing to be bad?" Lauren asked prompting for a more descriptive answer.

"Not listening..." Kaila looked down hearing the words slip out of her mouth. She couldn't help but feel ashamed for it.

"That's right. Now have you had enough time being a troublemaker?"

Nodding her head in response, Lauren smiled feeling a wave of peace rush over her. "Good. Kay we've been together here for a decent amount of time. And I'll say I've been more stressed coming to work knowing I'll have to watch over you, than I have with the responsibility of a hundred or so patients in my care. All the times I nearly lost you to your terrible escape ideas," she began twirling the key Kaila found in front of her face as a reminder, "and to horrible dogs in the halls. From now on things are going to be different. You will stay by my side at all times, not talk to anybody other than me, if you are little you stay in my office, and you are not to touch anything that I don't give you." Lauren meant the first three, but the last...the last was directed to what Kaila had in her sticky fingers a while ago.

Not thinking fully rationally yet, Kaila agreed in full compliance of her new found rules. "Good," Lauren smiled putting the key down on her desk.

Unknown to her, Kaila held a key to the department front doors. Once Lauren realized that her eyes bulged open. If Kaila had tried to walk out the front doors to the department, she would have had easy access to leave and would be left lost wandering the halls of the main facility, or worst a Hound would have caught her.

Lauren was semi grateful for the men they encountered earlier. 'At least they weren't Hounds. They wouldn't have dared to give her back to me. Kay would be long gone.'

Turning her attention back to the small girl in front of her nodding in agreement to everything along the way, Lauren was surprised when Kaila sat up on her knees coming in hot with her arms spread wide. Raising an eyebrow looking down, Kaila had hugged Lauren's waist from the floor.

The lack of affection had been slowly eating away at Kaila's desires. Her need for them was growing strong. Despite being someone who had spied on her friend specifically to gain information on when to apprehend them, Lauren felt a warm sensation brewing in her stomach. Kaila nuzzled her face into Lauren's top, missing the feeling of having the intimacy with someone.

Leaning down gently Lauren used all her might, while struggling slightly, she managed to get Kaila in her lap. The poor thing wrapped her legs around Lauren's waist quickly straddling the tall girl, while simultaneously wrapping her arms around her neck. Hiding away into the crook of her friends neck, Kaila finally felt the horrors of a few minutes ago passing away. Letting her body relax naturally, Lauren assisted hesitantly with some back rubs and pats.

Lauren was at a lost for what to do, but in a matter of minutes Kaila was fast asleep with a light pool of drool dropping out onto her friends shoulder. Hugging the small girl closer to her warm body, she let Kaila, who was in desperate need of affection, remain there as she began work on her laptop.

Pulling up her emails, Lauren looked towards the top of her inbox seeing a particularly interesting new message. The user was unknown to her, as most were, but this one was special. It was one of her colleagues under another random alias . Clicking on it she found the content inside it was something to celebrate.
