At the crack of dawn, Kaila was slowly waking herself up. Rubbing the sleep from her eyes with her fist she sat up stretching. As both her arms stretched away from her she blinked her eyes open worried when she didn't feel either Lain or Mallix beside her.
"Mommy? Daddy?" She called out as her eyes finally adjusted to the light coming in from the open window. When nobody came Kaila grew a frown as she crawled out of bed alone. Slowly making her way out into the hallway she could hear everyone talking in the living room. As she got there she noticed Lain, Mallix, Alex, and Nina were all drinking coffee whilst they chatted quietly.
Right as Kaila came into everyone's view Mallix opened his arms wide for her. Accepting his offer she snuggled into his embrace. "Good morning precious." He kissed her forehead as her eyes began to flutter shut again.
"She's up early, even Zander isn't up yet," Alex commented checking the time on his watch.
"I know. Why don't you try going back to sleep honey? Think you can do that for me?" Lain leaned in rubbing soft circles on the small girls stomach.
The soothing motion and Mallix's calming masculine scent had Kaila out like a light in a matter of seconds. She didn't even try fighting it. Her mind and body were still exhausted and needed this break to reenergize herself.
It wasn't until a few hours later when Kaila woke up again feeling better than earlier. Before her eyes could even open she could got a hint of lavender. Just smiling and nudging her head further into the woman's hold Kaila laid comfortably in Lain's arms.
When she felt Kaila readjusting herself Lain smiled down at her. "Good morning baby, go on and open those pretty eyes for mommy." She cooed at the small girl softly nibbling on her shirt.
Fluttering them open Kaila locked on to two bright brown orbs staring back at her. "There she is." Lain smiled pressing kisses all around Kaila's face. "Did you sleep well cutie?"
Kaila mumbled a reply. Feeling Lain begin to rock them Kaila felt sleep coming over her again. It wasn't until the soft movement came to an abrupt stop when the small girl whined wanting more of it. "Sorry Kaila, but daddy and I need you to wake up soon. We have something we'd like to talk to you about." Lain chuckled noticing the frown on her baby's face as she instead began to bounce her.
As Kaila got more awake Lain's words finally dawned on her. The tall woman's tone meant business and that only made the small girl anxious. She hadn't done anything wrong in her mind. So running through a long list she tried sorting out what this talk could be about.
"Don't worry sweetheart it isn't anything bad. Daddy and I want to just have a small chat with you is all. Nothing for you to be worried about." Lain assured seeing the panic forming.
It was safe to say the little girl was now wide awake. Lain sat the girl up so she was straddling her before giving the small girl an eskimo kiss to relax her nerves. As Kaila felt her shoulders drop she breathed calming taking in as much of the lavender scent as she could.
"See that's better." Lain chucked as Mallix finally walked into their room. Quickly shutting their door, he climbed in sitting besides his girls.
"Hey baby," he cooed seeing Kaila still nibbling on her shirt. He was confused as to why Lain let the small girl do such an action but figuring it was giving her comfort they just let it slide. "Did mommy already tell you that we wanted to have a talk with you?"
Kaila nodded looking between them for any clue as to what this was about. "Good. Then let's just jump into it." Mallix looked directly at Kaila. "Last night we were thinking, and this is completely up to you honey, but we were thinking about heading home soon. Maybe even tonight."
