Chapter 66: Two Vs One

"Hey M..." Alex heard Nina say with both confusion and horror. More than likely due to the fact that her room had been breached. Right before Alex could get close enough to hold him back, Mallix had turned on their bedroom light and let himself in.

"What the fu-" James was cut off and a loud thud echoed through the house. 'Please don't kill him Mallix. Not now we need him still!' Alex prayed as he was catching up.

"Mallix!" Nina screamed getting out of bed as Alex got in the doorway watching as Mallix stood hovering over James who was freshly thrown from bed. He bent down over James slamming his head against the floor harshly before throwing punches left and right across his face.

But James wasn't just going to sit back and allow this to happen. Doing his best to block his brothers hits, he was able to manage a few of his own. He was able to get out from underneath Mallix noticing the constant flow of blood dripping out of his nose.

"You lying piece of sh-" Mallix shouted at him before James managed to get a hit at his gut.

"What the hells your problem man?!" James asked as Mallix and him went back and forth throwing punches.

"You're my problem! You've always been a problem!" Mallix shouted jabbing James's jaw forcing him backwards.

"Stop it!" Nina screamed as the brothers continued bickering. Alex just stood in shock watching as they fought. Nina looked over her shoulder seeing him, "Alex do something!"

Getting a grip of himself, Alex let Nina's words ring through his ears. Jumping to action he ran into action as both Mallix and James were knocking blood out of one another. Getting by Mallix's side, he slipped past James getting him into a choke hold.

"Son of a bi-" James shouted at Alex as his arms slipped easily into place as his grip began to tighten cutting James circulation. James was gasping for air desperately making choking sounds as he tried to multitask between Mallix in front of him and Alex behind him.

As his focus started to get fuzzy, James knew he wouldn't be able to focus on both of them. It wasn't a hard decision for him to decide who needed his attention the most.

James was gasping trying to get air as he began hitting Alex's head with as much force as he could manage leaving his torso exposed for Mallix who didn't waste this opportunity. He threw a blow hard enough in his abdomen that sent James to his knees.

Alex fell with him not letting go of his hold on James neck. Pushing through he managed to hold on long enough for James eyelids to get heavy. They slowly started to fall as Alex applied more pressure to his grip. In a matter of moments James body heavily fell to the ground entirely. A small pool of blood building underneath him.

Both Alex and Mallix were too caught up in their own heads to have heard Nina screaming at them. Pleading to let him go. As the fight ended her voice crept back into their minds.

"Stop! Stop it! Oh my god! You guys killed him!" She limped pushing past them without her crutches as she dropped down to James side with tears in her eyes.

"He isn't dead, he's just unconscious for the time being." Alex said wiping away the blood from James hands on his head. Nina shot up crying her eyes out looking angrily at the two responsible.

"How could you guys do something like that?! He said he was sorry! What more do you want from him! He's not a bad guy!" She screamed at them as she slapped them both across the face.

Red handprints were visible. Mallix fixed his jaw before he grabbed Nina's hand that was coming in for a second slap. She struggled with him to free herself before Alex got in front of her, "Nina stop!" He grabbed her hand out of Mallix's hold gently.

"Why?! What you guys did was uncalled for!"

"No it wasn't! That monster of a brother of mines is working for the Cave! He knew where Kaila and Lain were this entire time! He deserved everything! And more!" Mallix screamed back at her.

She stood dumbfounded with a blank look across her face as she looked at them. "What?" Her voice was a mere whisper as she sat down on her bed staring down at her boyfriends body while Mallix and Alex explained the situation to her.

"That's what I was trying to tell you earlier, but he kept getting in the way." Alex finished off with as he looked sympathetically at her. More tears continued to fall, too upset and embarrassed with herself for falling back into his trap again.

Standing up off the bed her face cringed as James laid still at her feet. The anger inside her built to a point where Nina yelled as she kicked James unconscious body in his manhood with her good foot.

Not only once, but multiple times she kicked him and scream with tears pouring out of her eyes. It wasn't until Alex got besides her with his hand on her shoulder. After giving her his condolences, Alex gave Nina her crutches and guided her away from him, out of her room. Leaving Mallix and James body behind. "I'm sorry Nina." He said in the hall.

"How could he?! He promised me! That jerk promised me he had nothing to do with anything relating to the girls! He said he was trying his hardest to save them! Trying his hardest to track them down! But all along he was just lying! Playing a knight in shining armor! He's nothing but a mindless piece of trash!" She heaved pushing Alex off of her as she walked away on her own. Shaking as the feeling in her legs were giving away. "Leave me alone." Her voice cracked and trembled.

Alex watched as she walked out of the cabin slamming the door loudly behind her. 'Honestly...that went better than I expected.' He shrugged returning to Nina's room seeing Mallix was quick to work.

James was tied down to the bed frame. His wrists and ankles were strapped down to the corners of the bedpost.

"How'd you do all of that so fast?" He asked Mallix who just slapped a piece of duct tape against James mouth.

"I found these in my room when we first got here. I didn't know when we'd need supplies like this so I left them there, but this is definitely a good enough reason to put them to use." Mallix trudged around the room still with anger in his voice as he grinned his teeth.

"As soon as he wakes up we'll ask him about everything he knows." Alex tried to reassure as he got besides Mallix. "You've done as much as you can M. We should go outside to check on Nina while we wait for him to wake up." Alex suggested.

Mallix just grunted and walked away from Alex, bumping into his shoulder on his way out of the room.

Alex quietly sighed alone before crossing his arms as he looked at James still body. "This is all your fault." He stormed out seeing Mallix waiting for him in the hallway breathing heavily as he tried to calm himself.

"You go on ahead, I'll catch up. I'm just going to check on Z." Mallix nodded leaving to find Nina, while Alex stood nervously outside of his bedroom door.
