"Come...on!" Kaila mouthed out seeing as her voice still hadn't come back as she squirmed around. Pushing against her restraints she was in a tough battle to free herself. Her arms could just barely lift themselves off the table, same with her ankles.

Giving up she let her arms and legs fall limp to the table as the skin under the restraints began to bruise from her struggle. "This is impossible!" The sound of her voice echoed in her brain despite the fact that nothing came out of her mouth.

Laying flat on her back on the table for what felt like an eternity after Myra and Elias left, all Kaila could do was stare at the dull white ceiling letting seconds turn to hours.

Watching as speckles of dust fell from the ceiling, Kaila began to think further into what Myra and Elias had told her. 'Treatment plan! What treatment are they talking about?! After the gas I don't know how much more I can handle, everywhere hurts and I can't even feel my toes still. Why does everything have to be so complicated?!' She listened to her own voice echoing back at her.

For the next few minutes Kaila laid there contemplating about what the possible treatment plan could be. But no matter how hard she thought, there wasn't anything she could think of that was worst than that terrible gas. The way it not only messed with her head, but her body was beyond anything she had ever experienced before.

'It could literally be anything! There isn't one thing that I can think of that could be even more torturous than the chamber.' Not having a single clue about what was to come made the hairs on Kaila's neck stand up. Her heart rate increased and she had felt herself starting to become light headed again as she began hyperventilating.

Luckily Kaila was able to catch herself this time. Slowing down her breathing she was able to ease her heart rate back down to a normal level. Deciding to take deep and meaningful breathes, Kaila felt better. The throbbing in her head had subsided and for once she was able to look past the pain in her body.

But that didn't get her as far as she had hoped. Without having to worry about the pain, it allowed Kaila to open up her mind, letting an angry and resentful side of her slide out. Her calmed and rested self could feel all her rage rising inside. Her face had began turning a light shade of red from all the heat escaping her body.

It wasn't long after that her mind was able to take off, letting out all her emotions as best as she could. 'I hate this place! I just want to get out! This isn't fair I didn't do anything to them! Why do I have to be punished for it?! Why does Lain?! She's done nothing wrong?! Why is she even here in the first place? She should be out free living her life with Mallix...' she stopped for a moment.

Towards the middle of her rant, she laid there frozen as she heard herself. '...Mallix.' Being as still as ever a single tear dropped to the floor. She didn't notice how badly she missed him.

'I-I wonder what he's been up too? It's been so hectic in here trying to escape and see Lain again, I hope he's ok. I wonder what he's been doing since we've gone missing? I hope he's coming to get us, I miss him. I miss her. I...' her inner voice cracked at the thought of being reunited with them both, '...I-just want to be with them.'

In the midst of her breakdown, Kaila could feel herself slipping somewhere she longed to be. A place where she felt like there were no troubles in the world and she had no responsibilities hanging over her shoulders. Her safe place.

But that once calming and peaceful place seemed to be nothing but a reminder of the distance between them all. The more she felt herself slipping away the more she could feel the hole in her heart.

She was able to feel the gap in her heart since she had woken up in this cold facility, but finally being left with no options—not being able to run...to scream...to do anything, put everything into perspective—that gap was growing ever so slightly as the pain struck her again.

There was nothing for her to seek reassurance from, nothing to be comforted by, and nothing that would prove to be her savior. The restraints seemingly got tighter the more she cried to herself. Her heart was tearing itself apart. The harder she tried to hold it together the worst the pain hit her.

And this was no pain she had ever felt before. Even when she was living with her parents she hadn't felt pain like this. With them pain meant having a stinging or burning sensation on the surface, but this...this hit her as a stinging or burning sensation on the inside. Something that was a thousand percent worst. Shutting her eyes tightly she tried to ignore the growing pain.

Her face was flushed and a deep shade of red as tears ran down the sides of her head, small amounts of snot hung below her nose, and a growing amount of tears piled onto the floor below.

While only a week had actually passed, being trapped and confined within the walls of this caged building made it feel so much longer. She was afraid of both the uncertainty of her escape, and the thought of never being able to be back with the two people she loved.

Those two people who showed her what real love felt like seemed to be growing into a distant memory. One she remembered and would hold dear to her broken heart. And one she wishes she could go back to. Closing her eyes tightly she kept wishing and wishing to herself that this would all be just a dream. That she'd wake up and be in their arms again.

After doing this for several minutes, her mind had tapped into her wish. After wandering and drifting so far off into her own reality she opened her eyes seeing her most beloved sight. Standing in front of her was both Lain and Mallix dressed as formal as ever with their arms extended out to her. "Hey baby, don't be so sad. We missed you too." He said walking over and easily snapping the restraints holding her down before caressing her cheek and placing a loving kiss on her forehead.

"Daddy?" She said surprisingly finding her voice was back while bursting into tears and clinging to his chest for dear life as he scooped the small girl up off the silver table and held her close to his chest.

"Mommy?" Kaila cried as Lain had joined them in their hug. Looking up at her she had seen not a single scratch or marking anywhere on the woman's body. She looked perfect once again with a cheerful look in her eyes.

She didn't even want to question whether this was a dream or not. All she cared about was that she finally had what she wanted most. Kaila never wanted this feeling to leave again. As Mallix pulled back slightly, Kaila couldn't have been happier to hear the next few words. "How about we go home precious?"
