After quickly falling to sleep, it had felt as if not a second had passed when Kaila could hear a girl calling her name. It sounded so much like Lain's voice at first, they were nearly identical. "Kaila..." the voice called again gently. But the more it repeated itself the further away it got from Lain.  No longer having any similarities the voice got raspier and firmer. "Kaila."

Opening her eyes slowly, the left over tears coated her eyes with a thin layer of crust. Behind her puffy eyes, Kaila could see the shape of someone standing right in front of her. She went to raise her hand to wipe away the crust but whined when she felt her arms stuck once again. Trying with her ankles she felt herself get chocked up when they didn't budge. She nearly broke down realizing she had only imagined being with Lain and Mallix again.

"Finally your awake." The voice said just in time before the tears could start. Kaila flinched as a wet cloth covered her eyes beginning to wipe away the crust in front of them. Letting her vision focus now she nearly broke into tears once again seeing those horrible white walls teasing her. Looking towards the voice Kaila would've screamed if she could as she saw Lauren standing besides her.

She had an unamused look on her face with her arms crossed as she held the dripping cloth. The only sound in the room was the constant tapping of Lauren's foot and her heavy breathing. "You know the kind of trouble you got me in." She sternly told Kaila. "Because of you mom and dad don't think I'm ready to lead my own department, instead they got me working as Luke's assistance! They promoted him to run both of our departments! Now I've got to wait until they think I'm ready before they even let me set foot in my office." She raised her voice as she began pacing around the room.

"You want to know what was worst than being demoted to my brothers assistant," she spent no time waiting for a response, "even when they think I'm ready to run my department again, they won't give me as much freedom. No...instead I have to report to them daily and give them updates on everything!"

"Why couldn't you have just stayed in my room that morning and not have run off into the halls like you did. None of this would have even hap-!" Lauren turned to look at Kaila not expecting the look she received. She knew she was showing her anger for all the mess thats been made, but the horror in Kaila's face looked as if she had just murdered somebody in front of her.

That sudden shock quickly changed Lauren's mood. Even though she had been waiting for the moment she could get her hands on Kaila for revenge, seeing Kaila in the state she was Lauren knew the matter needed to be addressed in a different way. She made slow movements walking over to Kaila.

With each step she took the small girl whined not wanting her to yell again. "Hey, shh..." Lauren shushed her as she got close. Now with Kaila's clear eyes again, Lauren could now see it. Unlike Kaila's normal self these eyes were wide and innocent. They stuck out just enough to hint the situation.

Lauren panicked not knowing how to handle this. She had spent the last few hours preparing for her rant that she was about to give Kaila, and this was about to throw all of that down the drain.

As Lauren got right besides Kaila, the small girl couldn't bare to be directly next to her which she made known using a forceful cry. To Lauren's surprise there wasn't much sound that it produced, instead there was just the faintest noise of a cry. Instantly Lauren's jaw dropped.

"Holy crap!" She shut her mouth watching almost amused at Kaila's mute cry. "They actually put you in the chamber didn't they?...Mom told me the gas had the possibility to make its victim mute, but I've never actually seen it done." She bent down leaning an ear close to Kaila's mouth.

Lauren spent a good ten minutes just watching astound at the fact that it was even possible. But after she pulled away, she was quickly reminded of the terror bestowed on the poor girl. The responsibility of what to do next baffled Lauren. She was unsure.

Stepping back a few feet Lauren noticed underneath the cloth covering Kaila's body, her arms were trying to pry themselves off the table. Quickly removing the thin sheet Lauren saw the leather restraints buckling Kaila down in place.

"You really made them scared if they got you tied down that good Kay. You just had to go and try to find your friend, even after my contestant threats and warnings. Look where that got you." Lauren put her hands to her hips watching as the small girl paid her no attention and instead continued her attempt to pry her limbs off the table.

For a second Lauren actually considered the idea of letting Kaila go, before she figuratively slapped herself in the face. 'No, Kaila being free and trusted was the whole reason your in this mess Fendly. If she had just stayed put then mom wouldn't have come to you and interrogated you on every little thing that happened this week...' she was broke out of her train of thought when she heard Kaila slamming her arms and legs down onto the table with all her might in defeat. '...but I can't leave her tied down like that, especially like...well this. Even just a few minutes might help her, right?'

Lauren nervously walked over to one of Kaila's wrist restraints. Staring at it she contemplated whether or not she would actually follow through with her plan. She wiggled her fingers as she reached out to them. Kaila was still off in her own world crying hard and oblivious to everything going on. Just as Lauren's fingertips touched the leather she shot her hands away.

'I can't do this. Mom will literally kill me if I do this. All I was suppose to do was execute my treatment plan for her, but I can't. I can't do this to her when she's like this...it-it's not...not right. But there needs to be some kind of punishment for her behavior.' Lauren stopped to think again, snapping her fingers when a thought popped into her mind.

Before she got any closer to Kaila, Lauren stood looking down at the small girl squirming as much as she could while silently crying on a metal table contemplating everything. Taking a deep breathe she reached down again for the restraint, unbuckling it in one swift motion.

When Kaila heard the restraint pop she shot her head up and looked over in the direction of her hand. She pulled her now free arm in close to her chest, nervously wiping away the tears from her eyes. She tried sitting up before Lauren stopped her by putting a hand over her chest.

"Not yet, I still have a few more to undo." She walked around the table unbuckling the remaining three until Kaila was fully free.

Finally feeling herself able to move as she pleased, Kaila sat up on her own with so much adrenaline she was able to push through the heart wrenching pain. Looking over to Lauren she seen had a rather soft look before anxiously switching over to a more serious face after she noticed Kaila was watching her. Kaila turned to hang her legs off the table, after she carefully jumped down she noticed Lauren was constantly watching her extremely closely.

'I'm free.'
